I'm not sure if this has already been proposed but here goes anyway.
Currently if I login to Jita and there is too much traffic I get the option of being instantly transported to an adjacent system, which is fine.
So how about when I arrive at a Jita gate from somewhere else, instead of getting the Prohibited message I get the option of being transported directly to 4-4 if I so wish. Likewise, once I am in 4-4 and go to undock, if the traffic is still too high I get the same option as I do if I had just logged in i.e. to be taken directly to an adjacent system.
This is a complete guess but I'm basing this on the traffic problem being more to do with having so many capsuleers in space at one time rather than having them present in system but docked and for Jita in particular most traffic is straight in, trade, straight out.

I would have to say that magically transporting ships and contents from one system, directly into the safety of a station in a different system goes against everything that is Eve.

Trolling Comment: So you want a safe way to load up billions in your freighter in say Perimeter and then magically appear in Jita 4-4 without any risk of getting ganked on the gate or station if you land to far away? and then on the reverse you want to load up your freighter with billions and instantly teleport out of the station without ever having your ship at risk of getting bumped and alpha'ed? Well I want to fly Concord ships but you don't see me going on the forums
But seriously, magically moving players to avoid player interaction is a bad move in EvE. The whole "you undock, you consent to something happening to you" idea is a strong one in EvE and that is what helps define EvE as being unique. I understand the frustration of not being able to enter a system or being ganked on the gate while you're waiting to jump into Jita, but this is not the solution. If you're peak time is when Jita is the most crowded the only thing I can say is be smart about what you're hauling or flying and to also be patient. |

Just to clarify things: You want to be transported from Perimeter into the system that prohibited your jump because it is full and cannot accept more players, whether in space or in station, thus prohibits your jump in? |

Does this even happen? I've experience the Jita lockout when traveling to Jita, but Never when exiting a station in the system.
What happens now is that if you are in Jita when you login but it is too busy, you get a popup saying so and telling you you have to pick a station in an adjacent system to login to. And when you pick it, you do indeed get magically transported there.
This only happens when you login, not when you exit.

As my comment above.
But to reply to you, I can already do this. I load up in Jita early on Saturday evening and logout then when I log back in at peaktime on Saturday I get the option of going directly to an adjacent system. Voila.
Has no-one else figured this. |

In a nutshell!
But seriously, it's just an idea. Like I said in my OP I really don't have a problem spamming the button. And sitting at the gate sizing up who is ripest to be ganked is kind of exciting. |

One of the most thrown-around phrases in Eve is "Adapt or die". That means that YOU, the player, are supposed to adapt to in-game circumstances, not force the game to adapt to your way of thinking.
To resolve your problem, I suggest the following solutions:
# Don't go to Jita during rush hours (prime time most days of the week, Sundays, etc.). Schedule your shopping trip for another time.
A good way to see if Jita is closed without hammering at the gate is to check the population numbers in the adjacent systems (or as I call them, the "M-25" systems). If New Caldari has around 100 people in local, Jita is closed. If Perimeter has around 200 people in local, Jita. Is. Closed. Come back later.
# If you are in the Jita system, don't log off in there. Otherwise you may not be able to log back in until much later. If you need to keep tabs on the market, log off in a nearby system within the Forge region.
# Do your purchases in another trade hub. There ARE some items that are actually cheaper in the lesser trade hubs than in Jita. (I'll leave it up to others to discover which items those are.) |

I have adapted. In fact I use it to my advantage as I said above.
However, I don't believe this is an in-game circumstance. It's a server issue.
In-game, if Jita 4-4 was too busy a spaceport then I wouldn't be able to dock but I could still go to Jita 4-5. The reason the jump gate prohibits you from entering is because of an out-of-game circumstance i.e. the server load and as such is a dev thing.
This thread was simply to throw an idea out for how server load could be alleviated but there have been umpteen threads on this so I'm not going to pursue it.
