I enjoyed all 3, but The Revolution Will Not Be Televised was especially awesome to me. It's funny, I used to hear my dad say that every once in a while and I had no idea wtf it meant, lol.
I'm roaming all over the place with music today, which is fun, too. Though I'd share a funny one (to me, anyway) with you guys:

OK this is by far my favorite ongoing thread, and horror of horrors... it was like waaaayyy down on the page! This must not be allowed!
So, sometime soon Im gonna make a thread about bands that used to be awesome and then turned to crap. With that in mind, for the last hour or so Ive been listening to OLD Megadeth, the 1st 3 albums. I sorta lost track of em after the 3rd, but what little bits I heard of the subsequent albums I didnt especially care for.
1st album, not bad, not great. (yes I cba to type the names) 2nd album, pretty damn good. I like it. 3rd album, probably my favorite.
anyway, just a friendly bump to a good thread, and many thanks to those of you who have turned me on to some new stuff that I like. I always think it's awesome when you can introduce someone to new musiv that they like.

Today, I am listening to my birds sing. I have two cockatiels, Sparky and Enyo, and it's just going into spring here. The both of them are chatting up a storm and having a great old time. They were teasing a pair of peewees earlier, it was funny.
Music? Nah, I have enough entertainment for now. GÇ£Some capsuleers claim that ECM is 'dishonorable' and 'unfair'. Jam those ones first, and kill them last.GÇ¥ - Jirai 'Fatal' Laitanen, Pithum Nullifier Training Manual c. YC104 |

Years ago I would come home from work with a 6 pack of Rolling Rock, smoke me one of them thar left-handed cigarettes, put on some headphones and listen to that over and over again. Twas a really nice feeling. I imagine I'll spend most of the day listening to Blitzkid, which Zimmy introduced me too
OK sucked in

Lightnin' Hopkins "Guitar Lightnin'" I love this guy. He's kind of a guitar saint-poet-guru-wise man to me. Instrumental artistry, country man plain-spoken real life impressionsy/poetry, sometimes real deep blues, and usually lot of roguey happy living.*
"Cotton" Lightnin' flown out to L.A. and speaking some truth, with the help of a nice rhythm section.
A song about the women, played in the solo back porch Lightnin' style: "At Home Blues"
*Background: Lightnin' grew up in deep Texas, small steamy hot town in the woods too far from Houston. Son of farm hand cotton pickers, did his share of picking and hoeing. Far from the city, not many musicians around, he developed this thing where he accompanied himself alternating between playing a coming-and-going of a bass line with his thumb, and lots of melody and licks with 4 more available fingers. While nobody was paying much attention, he wrote and recorded about 1,000 songs, most of them solo. Guy usually took cash advances of as low as 40 bucks, because he needed the money at the time. No royalties on future sales. Yeah, it's a crying shame. Then again, that was the man and I guess that's part of what made his music. Those are superb.
Tim Hecker is my favourite ambient artist, although it's probably better to describe his music as experimental soundscapes.
An electronic artist I love who most people don't seem to have heard of is Floex, check him out.
