Give it 8 highslots for 8 unbonused Strip Miners (or maybe slightly bonuses, maybe just a 2-300% boost to strip miner range)
Why? because short of removing the ability of mining links working off-grid (hell even if they ahd to be ON grid to fucntion) there is very little reason for this ship to ever leave the POS it was built in, even LESS of a reason to ever be logged on after the refinery changes, and no amount of rebalancing will fix it without a fundamental change to its abilities.
so 8 strip miners (or possible a tractor beam that just pulls whole null-sec sized asteroids into a gaping cargohold for automatic reprocessing)
maybe science/industry slots on it
in general make it more of a general utility ship and ACTICE industrial instead of solely "that mining stuff you sorta do every now and then and even then its just afk in a POS"
maybe up its tank somewhat, and make it a carrier/dread styled SPECIFICALLY for projecting damage at small ships as a REAL mining camamnd ship, protectign the fleet its with. |

I have no objection to a capital sized mining ship, but i generally think it should function more along the lines of a mining 'bubble' effectively taking a portion of every asteroid in the belt, which nets out to a large amount of a lot of different ores. If you want to get picky/specific, use a mining barge. |

and the reason to fly a hulk or mack over one of these would be? EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY?No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided""So it will be up to a pilot to remain vigilant wherever they may be flying and be ready for anything at any time" |

You're in empire, or you don't want to risk 2.8billion in the belt? |

The rorqual still has a place, being able to provide up to a 50% increase to mining foreman mind links while being able to compress ore without the need for an additional pos structure is a great benefit. Also the ability to jump the compressed ore without the need to transfer the cargo is a plus. Novis Initiis is Recruting-á --á Ideas for Drone Improvement |

your math is wrong. Perfect skills:
Mining command ships:
Base T2 Boost (No Mindlink): +48.5% Orca + T2 boost (No mindlink):. +55.1% Base T2 Boost (Mindlink):. +59.9% Orca + T2 boost (Mindlink): +70% Rorqual* + T2 Boost (No Mindlink): +73.7% Rorqual* + T2 Boost (Mindlink): . +98.8%
* industrial core must be running else rorqual = base T2 boost |

I always say this in these threads because most of them fail to mention it:
Separate Mining links from indy core. 50% of rorq problems solved. |

What is the rorqual currently and how does CCP want it to be? He was referring to the other 2 mining links. They get just a tad over 45% with perfect skills. The one you're looking at is the range bonus. |
