Apply to Eve University. 600+ members can't be wrong. (We'll they can, but at least they are all wrong together).

Manas, I have a 12-year-old who's been playing for 3 mos but is sick of NPCing and wants to learn PvP. Just topped 2mil SP (mostly Learning) and flies a Rifter. I was thinking that EVE-U might be good for him.
What's the laungage like in chat? I don't want him learning any new words if I can help it. |

Dear Eve University,
I've been playing the game about 2 weeks now, some of my friends have been here 2 years plus, and before I start flying in 0.0 space with them, I was hoping to get some instruction from you guys. I will join the chat channel tonite and hopefully get in contact with someone. Thanks, and I look forward to learning.

Hello, I just placed an application online today to join after activating my account after the trial period; this game has so much to offer with so many facets to explore that it's hard to grasp it all. I look forward to learning from you and to find a niche for myself as a member of the EVE community.

greetings!
manas will be moving on to our graduate school (TGRAD) and i will be assuming his responsibilities as head of our recruitment department. i hope this will not adversely affect our efforts in this area, however, we are operating short-handed until we can back-fill a position. until further notice, please direct your inquiries regarding eve university recruitment to me and be patient with us as we make some adjustments.
thank you,

hello, all!
again, eve university finds itself the target of a declaration of war. for those of you who are interested in joining us, let me first convey our apologies for the distraction and speak about our position on wartime recruitment.
for the new player, we recommend simply waiting. typically these things blow over in time and we can once again resume normal classes and peacetime operations. we would invite you to also join us in our public eve chat channel, "eve university" during your wait.
for the "seasoned" player there are other options you may want to be aware of. if you have a few weeks of combat mission running and/or pvp and understanding the risks involved would still like to join us, then post here or evemail me.

Hi I'm about 5(ish) months old in the world of eve, I had a month or so Solo then I joined a Corp. I'm just in the process of leaving the corp to "Find Myself" as I feel I lack the essential skills of Eve, my character and Game-play is mainly Mining / Industrial so I lack the Combat skills. I've got 3 accounts, 1 being a strictly hauler account having no combat experience, and I don't want him to, the other is my guard when I'm mining, and I want him to be more combat effective, just training him up to use a Raven.
I was thinking of going Solo again for a bit in Empire just to build skills up, but if I can join the Uni then I can benefit more from players experience.
Do you think I'll be suitable to join?
Thanks
Emma

Edited by: Vendette Ornay on 15/09/2006 15:33:54 hey all!
feel free to join us in-game in our public chat channel, "EVE UNIVERSITY". hang out there, ask questions and get to know some of our peeps. if you want to apply, no problem. we have offices in virtually every starter station in the game!
the process is pretty straight-forward: first you apply, then you will receive a questionaire within 24 hours. fill that out and send it back to us. if everything lines up, we'll chat with you some and discuss your goals and our corp. if everything stays on track, we make an offer to you and you're in.
during wartime, as we are experiencing now, our recruitment is more selective (for obvious reasons) and if you do qualify, the process is somewhat lengthened. we advise new players to simply wait it out. if you have some basic combat qualifications, we may be able to bring you in anyway. please contact me in-game for details.

New players will get a great experience by starting out in eve university. I learned most of what I know about eve from here. Combine this with a close relationship with the new [TGRAD] corp in ISS, this is a great place to be. Highly recommend you check it out.

Recruitement open again? Or is E-U still at war? :) The channel in EVE says recruitement is open, though iirc the war is still going on.
