You forgot that some empires last hundreds of years :)
BoB will probably last untill EvE 2 comes out or something, then they will have to start from scratch again.

With all respect to a complicated system like Eve, you can't even compare it to the processes of evolution of nations in real world. It's not a place to state the differencies, and that wouldn't be of any interest to like 99% of readers, so I'll cut it short. In a game world like Eve, the lifespan of an entity like BoB can be nearly equal to a lifespan of the game itself.

Rise or fall who cares...
Personally they have brought an edge to the game that make plotting and planning in FIX very interesting..
BoB is BoB they will do god knows what next but having to watch them while trying to plan against other enemies that are your main focus..
Very interesting indeed !!!
Wether the alliance we are with rises or falls it is all fun and I will still be around to shoot someone..
There I have finally posted on a BoB thread !!!

I would have to say the logic is there.
All great powers do fall at some point in time. The real world history has proven that time and time again. But I would have to say for BOB it will be along way off.
If you have looked at the eve map in-game and look at the sovereighty, BOB has the most systems locked up. The only groups that have more are NPCs. To me Fountain is like a stronghold, and it would take months, if not a year, to push them out.
