I don't usually like those sorts of forums because it means either the moderation is questionable or the posting is. Either way it's a great way to stifle conversation. And this comment will probably be moderated because it's discussing moderation. And so the cycle of refinement continues until you only end up with a handful of regular posters and their alternates always saying the same things to each other. Forums are a social network, just like MMO games are. Unfortunately we seem to have an innate need to form cliques, so that we belong, and the other is the enemy. I'd prefer a style more reminiscent of a coffee house buzzing with chat, but obviously that cannot be done on the forums of the game, because they have various PR concerns that require limiting chat. ~ ~~ Thinking inside Schrodinger's sandbox. ~~ ~
