Move to Dodixie (or Jita if this is a 'Amarr gets attacked instead of Jita' scenario) or wait until it fizzles out.
This is an annual occurrence, and although I personally do not approve of the wholesale destruction, the positive effects of the market cannot be argued. Waiting a few days to two weeks is a little discomfort in return for some rather large gains if you;re in the production market or skilled at speculation.
If it were to happen in Amarr, as it is a capsuleer on capsuleer interdiction of freighters and other ships of interest, I doubt that the local government would care too much. Indeed, such activity is an indicator of the success of Jita as a trade hub, as it is chosen for its exceptionally large capsuleer population, some of whom have questionable senses of self preservation (the freighter pilots in this case, the catalysts are very much aware they will die).
With all of the burden on capsuleers and CONCORD, the local government can probably sit back and enjoy thei ncreased brokerage and tax fees that come with higher market prices. Those capsuleers with any connection to social media or reality will already have planned around the interdiction. As much as I despise the Empire, I don't really wish to see any more of the "burn Jita" sort of psychosis elsewhere. I'd probably be as disappointed in my fellow capsuleers as I am over Burn Jita. "There is no strength in numbers; have no such misconception."

This thing doesn't affect economy of the State, and wouldn't affect economy of the Amarr, since it just a simple terror tactic targeted only against capsuleers, and only weakest and scaredy of capsuleers will be affected by it.
But this...

The terrorists behind Burn Jita were kind enough to warn everyone publicly before hand though. Which is cool, since not that many terrorists are so courteous.
Maybe we can create a new trade hub! I heard Lonetrek is nice this time of the year. |

Torrinos is a micro-hub due to its strategic status as a high security border to a null region. It's a bit out of the way for conventional trade, though. There are a number of minor hubs bordering the war zone in Blackrise and Lonetrek, but their names elude me at this time. I suspect like most capsuleers I would completely ignore it.
'Burn Jita' on the other hand inconveniences the largest number of pilots and provides a parade of juicy targets for those capsuleers bent on destruction. It's quite a field day for Concord too...
What I can't fathom is given how public the event is and advertised in advance why folks insist on taking their chances in the system... particularly when there are so many alternate places to engage in commerce. A friend of mine in Red Frog Freight told me that a Freighter was destroyed in the space of a second when it came under fire by thirty catalysts. A billion isk ship driven by a billion isk clone with a billion isk cargo gone in the space of a second!
I like shopping for a deal as much as the next person but there is indeed such a thing as a good time and a bad time to 'hit the mall' on a trade hub. |

It would be rather inconvenient for those intending on making a shopping run to Amarr at that time, but as with the "burn Jita" event, one can simply wait it out, or prepare for the event to sell in the aftermath. Fide et honore.

This is slightly off topic, but this war on Jita is just another example of how violent capsuleers are. Once again we see groups of capsuleers blowing things up for no good reason, killing thousands of crew members in the process. Killing is murder, if not done for a valid reason, like defending yourself or while serving Nation.
Once again we see CONCORD allowing widespread murder. |

Agreed. As a capsuleer who has been around for awhile I find that my faith, learned over many years, is all that sustains me. Immortality is promised by The Lord, but capsuleers know nothing of responsibility other than their human origins and short time as an immortal pseudo being. You have all heard of the tales of deadly games of grenade juggling and pistol gambling where a clone jump results.
They have no regard for each other, a psychology bred into them by their experiences and the vicious breeds that compose most of the 'gankers' ... Only capsuleers loyal to Amarr or another sovereign state have said they would wish to exterminate this disease.

Really, the only significant effect of Burn Jita is the destruction of capsuleer property and assets on an astronomical scale. And no one benefits more from that than CONCORD, the empires, and baseliners in general, not to mention any capsuleers who avoided the festivities altogether. |

So called "Gank" attacks happen too quickly for most crew to escape alive. The survivors would be the lucky few who managed to get themselves trapped in parts of the ships which didn't start leaking O2, and this is usually where I will start my search for survivors in wrecks. Fun fact! |
