I'm surprised bumping, when not tactical and obviously meant to cause grief, isn't against the rules of the game. At this moment I cannot undock from Jita without being targeted by 2 guys in Machariels. When there is a duel, these guys are bumping to interfere and either driving the players together or moving them apart. They are keeping industrial ships from aligning and when not targeting just one ship, they look like a pinwheel spinning in front of the dock.
How is this not considered griefing?
Also, how can a Mach hit an Abaddon head on, spin it 180 degrees and send 10km+? Silly. |

Have you read the Dev post regarding bumping? If they keep bumping you from system to system hours on end for no reason it's petitionable. Otherwise they're free to bump you on undock. |

GM Karidor wrote:On November 28th 2012, CCP Falcon created this thread on the Crime & Punishment Forum for the discussion of Miner Bumping with a view to clearing up any questions regarding the legitimacy of this type of gameplay. The thread was closed on December 5th and the discussion regarding this tactic has been long and detailed. After speaking with Game Design and discussing the contents of the thread among themselves for quite some time, the GM Team has come to the following conclusion: CCP considers the act of bumping a normal game mechanic, and does not class the bumping of another playerGÇÖs ship as an exploit. However, persistent targeting of a player with bumping by following them around after they have made an effort to move on to another location can be classified as harassment, and this will be judged on a case by case basis. We would also like to stress that if a gameplay activity is classified as being GÇ£within the rulesGÇ¥ this does not mean that we endorse, sanction or back player activity. We simply see this as emergent gameplay that has occurred due to the nature of game mechanics.
As such, any players who have any notes to this effect within their in game biographies should remove words of this nature immediately.
In other words, bumping is a legitimate mechanic, but persistent harassment is not. If you believe you are being targeted by harassment, please submit a support ticket so the GM team can have a look. Also...

As a courtesy to other forum users, please search to see if there is a thread already open on the topic you wish to discuss. If so, please place your comments there instead. Multiple threads on the same subject clutter up the forums needlessly, causing good feedback and ideas to be lost. Please keep discussions regarding a topic to a single thread. Keeping comments on the same topic together helps garner a coherent, followable discussion. Please continue the conversation in the already existing thread. Thread locked.
