Someone said that you can do anything you want to in EVE.
Well I am looking for the HEALER class in EVE. If someone would explain what skill/ships that would be the best healer/medic "cleric" in this game it would be most appreciated.

Look at Logistics cruisers. They're what you're looking for.
Danged near useless for PvP, but awesome for PvE action.
Oh, and each race's tier-one cruisers (the Osprey, Scythe, Augoror, and Exequror) has a bonus to healer-type stuff.

Fit a Shield Transporter and a Remote Repair System in one of the ships listed above and you will be the 'cleric' of Eve.

Usless for PvP? Is PvP just a big who has the most guns, and an all out slugfest??

The problem in PvP is that people will usually target you and you won't be able to tank any kind of damage for a long amount of time. Logistic ships can take advantage of their range to try to avoid this from happening, however. In the worst case scenario, you can always still sit at a safespot in a fleet battle and repair (or give cap to) people who are forced to warp out of the battle.
Also, in addition to the T2 Logistics cruisers, battleships (as well as carriers and motherships) make quite effective healers as well.
(Note that although smaller-scale EVE PvP is far from a 'whoever has the biggest guns wins' slugfest, tactics and strategy play a sizable role in any fight)

Precisely. A "healer" role can be very useful in smaller-scale fights. You simply need to realize that you're going to be targeted fast and work around that fact.
It's hard in large fleet fights, though, simply because so many guns will target you at once. -------------- What good are actions if there's no one to tell the tale afterward?

Another thing people haven't yet pointed out is that the UI for people that want to "heal" their friends is clumsy at best. In order to activate the module on them, you have to target them, which often times results in them accidentaly shooting you because in the heat of battle they may see you as an enemy.
Passive targeter could fix that, but its a waste of a midslot.

In most MMOs, the healers can self-heal. This is rather lacking in EVE unfortunately.
Also, in additional to what Sakura said... if you are running missions (or PvPing for that matter) with someone who isn't in your corp while healing, make sure you bring no offensive modules/drones or it might lead to a very nasty incident involving CONCORD>

Ya, in 0.5 and above, you have to be extremely careful in which mods you select - one press of a button, and your web could turn your expensive logistics ship into dust .

If "healing" doesnt work out for you, there are other fleet support roles.
You can skill up to use elite bc/battlcruisers and the warfare modules. I haven't seen much of these around, but the bonus's for some of the warfare modules look pretty sick.
There's also ECM, which is brought to almost every fight. You'll be the primary target in any fight, but at lease you'll be able to fight back, in a sense, by removing their target locks.

Another useful support role E-war. Though be prepared to be called primary doing that too

Well actually I am not from WoW, dont like the game really, but the real reason I ask this, is because I love space games, but did not really want to join the slugfest that alot of these games have. I really enjoy the healer/support char, and was just wondering if there was something "LIKE" that in this game.
Not really interested in flexing my muscles, and how many notches I have on my ship.
Anywho, any support or advice in this area is most welcomed.

No they dont i did it to newbie players pretending it was not a remote repairer but a form of tractor beam that stole any cargo from their ship and placed it into mine where id ask for X isk for it back.
Didnt quite work the way i imagined but concorde didnt shoot me

You'll have plenty of notches on your ship but not ones that you put there.
I think you want to look more at support/logistics and gang assist side of the game where ships are concerned. There are quite a number that have a bonus for those things. Some cruisers have a bonus for range in remote repair or shield transfer mods and the battlecruiser for every race has a bonus for gang assist mods without having to go into T2 ships.

"Healers" generally work best in multiples since then they can heal each other as well as others, this compensates for their lack of self tank.

You can sit in a safespot near a fleet battle, and act as a combat hospital. People warp to you when they are taking fire to get out of the fight, and you repair them while they turn around to warp back into the fight.

There are many logistical roles you can take on in EVE.
Your ship evolution may be as such: T1:Support Frigate /EW frigate (damp enemy damage logistics) \Hauler frigate (carry spare ammo)
T1: Support Cruiser /EW: Most popular is Blackbird, others are good w/ drones. \Auguror et al are innexpensive and often useful to gang mates that otherwise use no active tanks. They all have good sized cargo holds for either cap charges or spare ammo. These are all dual function, and as such, provide in the way economic support for the corp during non-combat scenarios.
T1: BattleCruiser -Can fit gang boosting modules. T2 variant does more of the same.
T2 support frigate: Cover Ops. With this you can either suppress enemy economic activity, or if they don't know what you are, line up easy kills.
Differences of ship types and roles in EVE combat are not always hard and distinct. There's a lot of fuzzy overlap.

Also, at least while getting started, You might find Manufacturing, Trading, Mining, And the whole "Carebear" side of life a little more interesting. One of the easier ways to get out of the slugfests.
Anyhow, For acting like a Healer, All these Guys Above have had great suggestions (pesonally I have never thought of having a combat hospital, but then again, haven't worked to many large scale fights).
I give these posts the "Hardee's stamp of Approval".
