I am currently intending to purchase a scorpion for mainly mission running but also some pvp, but i also have plenty of Amarr skills so I am wondering if instead of geting a scorpion I should get a Armageddon instead. Any opinions?

Scorp for PVP, but it sucks for PVE. _____________________________________

Get a Raven for mission running.
Scorp and Arma are both good for PVP, Scorp being slightly better though imo. ................. |

These ships operate on opposite ends of the spectrum.
Scorp = EW Master / Weak damage Geddon = Great damage / horrid EW - _____

How does a Raven handle for PVP though? Is the Scorp more preferable because of its EW bonuses?

I heard that a tech 2 raven of death is a serious force to be reckoned with. But the scorp does have good ecw capabilities.

Scorp gets called primary target a lot cause it can jam the **** out of other ships.
Raven has the "lets watch my missiles crawl to the target, oh look he warped out" problem when at range. ---- EVE-Central.com | Obsidian Technologies - 0.0 Manufacturing, Defense and Logistics. We're hiring! Mail me |

scorp = ew pwnage. scorp = primary target
Dont make teh mistake of going half way with a scorp. Use 2 sensor boosters and 6 ew modules. If you want soem survival fit plates in the lows, but dont expect to be able to turn.

I was thinking of shield tanking with a scorp, cause 8 med slots would be usefull in that regard.

The only time its worth shield tanking a scorp is if you're the only BS in a small gang and are definately going to be called primary. Otherwise ECM > all.

You are in a ship with the damage output of a shuttle. It's one redeeming feature in pvp is it cam jam half an enemy fleet with wondeful mid-slot items.
What do you want to do? Fill up the mids with tanking gear Fit a ship to complement its intended role or leave it in the hangar

Well, The scorpion is good at PVP, infact so good, it usually get selected primary first, and due to that, it has a very short lifespan in PVP. Scorpion can also fit a very good shield tank, and as such can PVE some... Armageddon. One of the finest hard hitters in EVE. Can fit a decent tank, while still focusing on doing damage. Lacks in EW capabilities, as the Armageddon only has 3 mid slots. So, tank+ damage = PVE ability.
