I can be forgetful Definitely has not changed. I lost a Vargur (only my 2nd ever PVE loss in over 2 years) to a power outage a few days ago. Got my computer back on just in time to see it explode. (Thunderstorms. ) Fully passive rattler is the way to go if you want to be fully disconnect proof. Active Navy Scorp with cap stability or a Paladin with enough cap to run the tank would work fine, if you were just walking away from the computer & coming back later.
I want to try the Vargur but not enough ISK at the moment.
Yea in the past week thunderstorms have knocked out my power twice... Have to love Texas.

You can search for a player if you visit such an agent. You give him isk, type in the player name, he will tell you that he's gonna search for him and you get a notification where said player has been in the last time. Useful if you wardecced somebody and want to know where he hangs out usually for example.
On topic: There is a very simple method if you dont want to be ganked. Aside from not fitting faction mods you can simply go for a buffer tank. Over the time when you accumulated enough skills you barely need a tank at all. Lvl 4's have been made back then with players in mind who had T1 battleships with meta 4 modules or worse or even for BC's. Due to powercreep and buffing of ships over the years marauders laugh at the pitiful damage you receive in most missions.
You can mitigate most of the damage by simply keeping range. Fit a MJD and cruises to your Golem, jump to 100 and shoot. For tank, fit a couple of shield extenders and hardeners. You can manage most missions even without a shield booster. Voila, gankers need to apply way more damage to kill you. |

And CN BCU please.
Cap stable not even close to being needed on this ship. Warp in, bastion, kill. Repeat. I have a requirement to be cap stable, my little brother is prone to having seizures If you have to be cap stable because you might have to go AFK I would recommend a SNI. You'll be able to cheaply fit it and be able to go AFK in the mission in the event of an emergency. You're just asking for a lossmail going AFK in a Golem. I would agree. SNI & Rattler are the ideal cap stable disconnect proof missile boats. Marauder wise, you can easily built a Paladin with a cap stable tank. If you leave, you aren't going to be using the guns, so you don't need full cap stability. I've never used the Kronos, but I'd expect that it would work as well. Armor reps have a much lower cap usage. Active shield fits are always going to be expensive to make cap stable, and you'd be working against the strength of the ship.
Vargur is pretty easy to get cap stable without cap mods. I've found the opposite with armor as the skills speed up the cycles. |

This is EVE. Everything is a gank target, if for no other reason than for Lols.
Viability of targets scale in proportion to aggressor(s) interest in extracting tears. It isn't just about loot/ISK. |

Second one's the more lucrative option.
But on a slow night a killmail's a killmail.
No argument, though, about the potential victim taking advantage of low probability. |

Cost of fit v.s. effective health determines gank value.
The more you cost to gank both in isk and sec status times the number of players the lower your chance of getting ganked.
The just for the fun of it randomness happens but is only a small percentage of ganks.
If you want big effective health and cap stable Rattlesnake is where it's at. |

Passive tank maybe. My active tank Rattlesnake has a lot more DPS but needs babysitting, especially against Gurista. I tried a fit that used an X-Large Ancillary for a while but got sick of having no cargo space :D

Come to peace with the fact that nearly everything is gankable when someone is bored. Its not always economic. Sometimes it is someone with too much isk looking to harvest tears, or just see if they can do it.
Don't get too attached to whatever ship you have bought, and you should be fine.
Am I saying don't be aware? Nope. Keep your eyes open. Am I saying don't fit your ship well? Nope. Do what you need to achieve your goal.
Have fun! |

price is same but better dps and better burst tank (7 million isk less)
cap-stable tank is unnecessary since you waste your slots for cap modules when you can equip modules that speed up your mission time I dont need that mid slot to be cap stable, I was just playing around with it, but I want to keep a good tank and remain cheap, seeing how this fit failed to stay cheap, I am wondering if anyone has any good fits that are cap stable why you need cap stable? if your goal is do L5 or anon or Wormhole where there may be NPC that neut you. I am sure there are better way to counter than depend on cap stable.
The best way to counter L5 and sleeper neuts is to buff your cap recharge over their neut amount. aka Pony Lord Planck |
