Just watched the trailer and saw something that looked very much like a WH in EVE. I wonder if Nolan is an EVE fan?

Wormholes in EVE were modelled after what scientists assume a real wormhole would look like. So no surprise Nolan went for a similar effect. Sovereignty and Population New Mining Mechanics |

I know but usually hollywood uses the more standard version that looks more like a vortex. |

Hmm, little too much "oh daddy daddy" kind of drama in that trailer for my taste so I won't keep my breath waiting for it. But wormhole bubble indeed looks like those in Eve. I am not my skills but... http://eveboard.com/pilot/Schmata_Bastanold |

Welp, Nolan sure has thrown in his flag now with Spielberg (Steven was the original director in fact).
I don't know why this kind of movie cannot just start with them in space and getting on with it. Instead it looks to be the typical 60 minute start of all the "astronauts" life on Earth and all the DRAMA.........saying goodbye to people and all that yadda yadda.
I just seriously believe the SF movies they make now all have to follow the same model. Just give us a descent space movie.....in SPACE for God's sakes.
I really feel pandered to, in a way I don't want. I was enthusiatic about this film until now, but I'm going to wait on initial reviews before dismissing it utterly. The truth is this...
Mankind's reach does not exceed it's grasp.
Most people are content to reach down to their groin, the most basic primitive urge to get a drug fix of orgasm chemicals injected into the brain. This need rules the very best, the very greatest of us as their most important aspirations in life. The very best of us, the very best among our species on the entire planet cannot advance past such basic simple primitive urges. The control and restraint simply isn't there yet...except in the very few.
Most people are content to be ruled by masters instead of mastering rule over their own instincts, their own primitive urges.
They happily dwell in the illusion of choosing a "representative" instead of desiring to represent themselves. Vote for issues themselves. A direct Democracy can never exist among a species so content to be ruled and live as slaves.
Nolan's film only extends as far as his vision does. Reproduction, raising children.
The space aspect is simply a side show to the drama.
This is our species at face value.

So, we see the spaceship in the trailer.
Are we looking at an Alcubierre drive ship, or is the ring just for gravity generation? It would seem the trailer depicts a warp bubble if you ask me.
Extremely excited for this film. |

Was sitting my self when trailer started so I didnot payed attention much but,
Thing in trailer looks like a black hole and it make ship tiny no matter the class of hull it also seems to suck in light at surface ring rather than in eve wh it distort image 2-3 times bigger than it self which is rather small in it self and come devoid of any gravity effects.
I didnt see eve wh in some time so I might not remember it right and I also tend to believe that black holes and wormholes are 2 separate things I dont believe in any type of a tunnel wh imply but rather rift in time and fabric of space that in my mind blackhole represent.
Thing in movie looks scary to me as well, hope movie will be awezome.in case trailer does mention wormhole travel than my bad I failed at watching. http://i.imgur.com/1N37t.jpg
