I think Space Odyssey is in some way similar to Prometheus. Monolith: similarity to goo made by Engineers. Engineers steering evolution - Monolith having presumably same effects. Questions about our destiny, in both films, but in Odyssey they are somewhat camouflaged. You don't get final answer in both. Actually Space Odyssey was and is to this day somewhat unanderstood, as to what Monolith is, similar to what goo is. What makes Odyssey overwhelming even now is great Visuals, IMAGERY, something what Prometheus have too, but, they made this young actor play himself characterized and it looks awful, contrasting, and the point is...
...what ruins prometheus is those small things, and you have a feeling that this film is a bunch of ramblings. When weapons, technology, and economies mature faster than the leadership culture entrusted with them, disaster ensues. http://i.minus.com/ibeZ0sJewvDMBN.gif |

I hope Ridley Scott will not spoil Forever War for me, I love the graphic novel. When weapons, technology, and economies mature faster than the leadership culture entrusted with them, disaster ensues. http://i.minus.com/ibeZ0sJewvDMBN.gif |

Love the soundtrack. John Barry was a great composer. When weapons, technology, and economies mature faster than the leadership culture entrusted with them, disaster ensues. http://i.minus.com/ibeZ0sJewvDMBN.gif |

I remember one film that is so old i actually seen it as a child, and its 1936 film of HG Wells and it's called Things to Come. Honorable mention at least for predicting WW2. When weapons, technology, and economies mature faster than the leadership culture entrusted with them, disaster ensues. http://i.minus.com/ibeZ0sJewvDMBN.gif |

Only first part of trilogy. And I would like to mention the Animatrix series also. Definitely worth watching. When weapons, technology, and economies mature faster than the leadership culture entrusted with them, disaster ensues. http://i.minus.com/ibeZ0sJewvDMBN.gif |

This film looks like a funny Sci-Fi class B movie. I will definitely have to watch it. It's in fact first part of the bad Turks in Space, but a lot funnier. When weapons, technology, and economies mature faster than the leadership culture entrusted with them, disaster ensues. http://i.minus.com/ibeZ0sJewvDMBN.gif |
