Sometimes you want the flexibility of 'reserve' SP such as were granted with the learning skills rollback. However, they should have a penalty to avoid people AFK training reserve SP for a year.
* Reserve SP always behaves like a 32 hour skill to train (thus fits nicely into the existing skill-queue feature, and requires near-daily interaction to keep it going) * It trains at 2/3rd your lowest attribute (including implants), so relying on this to accure SP prior to using all trains is not efficient, but is a way to accrue some emergency SP.
Recent example: I had an alt tending a POS but it ran out of fuel. That alt didn't have the necessary anchoring skill to re-online it, so I used a few points of my Learning Skill refund to insta-train it so I could re-online the POS.
It could also be used post-expansion when new ships / new skills come out. |

well at least you didn't start this off with something like "I don't know if this has ever been asked before"......2/10 for that. |

This allows for "instant" training to whatever is FOTM.
example: I have now fully specialized in a certain race's ships and weapons and I'm not sure what to train next. The next expansion is about 2 months away. Instead of training "real skills" I'll wait, let SP accrue, and then "insta-train" to whatever ship turns out to be "the best" after the expansion comes out.

i dont see this being such a bad idea. sure it may break immersion a little but plenty of other things in the game do that.
putting a cap on it would be the key. so that things like fluffers example wouldnt happen. somthing like 100k sp would be a nice litmit to it so that theres enough to train a lvl or 2 just to get a skill going in pinch like the problem niskowitz encountered, yet still leaving the lvl IV's and V's to be train as intended.
i like the idea as long as the limit of sp saved stays pretty low.

Why did you leave an alt that didnt have the skills to look after a POS, looking after your POS.?
I think that's where the problem is, not in the skill system.
