I'm just returning to the game, not having played since before Rubicon. Which mean that my knowledge about this is all out of date.
So I'm going to do some mission running for a quick cash injection.
Which one is the best one? Paladin or Golem? My skills for both are about equal. |

Paladin for Amarr space. Golem for everywhere else.

Both are great Vs. Everything but Angels, Golem is good Vs. them, Paladin not so much.
If you don't have great drone skills, Golem is probably better. Dual painters and web with either precision or navy missiles absolutely crushes small targets.
Both are fun to fly and rip through missions quickly.
I stopped marauding with mine though, and leave that to the noctis. Its still quicker that way. Accounts may not be used for business purposes. I guess it depends on how you fly but I use a MJD on both. I find the Paladin is better for frigates because I can instapop most. If you don't have good drone skills you probably shouldn't be flying a T1 battleship much less a Marauder but that's just my opinion.
I use 3 target painters but I don't let anything get anywhere near web range.
The downside to my kill at range tactic is you can't really salvage while doing the mission. That's okay because I'll just bring in a salvage alt with a Noctis if I really feel like it. |

the paladin does terrible things to sansha and blood raiders. with its well balanced resistance profile, it is also somewhat useful against serpentis and guristas (moreso with tachs instead of pulses). against angels, it is a lot slower than, say, a sentry dominix or other ships that can shoot explosive.
the golem is a good alround platform. its only downsides are inherent to missiles (missile flight time and juggling target painters). if you can live with these caveats, the golem will take you through any lvl4 easily.

I've missioned in Gallente and Amarr space with a Paladin for dozens of missions.
The biggest difference I can note is how long some missions take to complete. Angels a bit longer than Serpentis and nothing is as fast as lasering the blasphemous Sansha from the stars. |

Golem, hands down is a breeze to use. Its effective all around. Mjd, t2 lg shield booster, 2 invulns, 2 painters, sebo, 3 bcs, cruise missiles and the bastion module. I just use scourge and hornets because kinetic is effective against the majority of missions I run. Saves time not having to swap between missions.
The mjd and bastion together are amazing with cruise missiles. Allows for an all tech 2 fit, minimizing the threat of ganks. I'd rather fly a 1b ship with a 20-90m fit than a 1b ship with a 1b+ fit. |

As everyone else has said. Nothing rips through Blood/Sanshas faster than a paladin.
Golem for everything else.
I actually have both fit and I switch ships depending on missions. I do missions in Caldari space but I swear my agent gives me sansha missions about 50% of the time. Some days I use my paladin in more missions than my golem.
