Ok im Furious Actually im beyond Furious Ok players of EVE, Mods and Devs listen to this: I have -7.66 with Ammar -8.72 with Ammar Navy
Im near Rens, mostly a mission runner with Minamattar. We got friends with some people and I was moving my Raven and lots of stuff to DYSA (0.2) to join them for some fun. Whilst going there some NPCS that were ammar navy started locking on me. Their lock takes forever and was always yellow before I jumped. HOWEVER in one of the Jumps some of those white ships locked on me and started shooting, but they did really small damage damage. AND THEN I JUMPED Next jump I got fast locked AND attacked by 2 BS at least 2 frigs and maybe some other white npc ships. THEY WERE OWNING ME, mind you I had very expensive fitting, arbie cruisers xlarge booster t2 and amp etc. I quickly tried to warp but I was WARP scrabmled. In the lows I had 3 WCS (Because I was gonna mve through some low sec, so I wanted security). After trying to gather my jaw from the floor, I tried to fight back realising that i would die anyway. I COULDNT LOCK THE even lock the Npcs to fight back. lock didnt work.
I lost a Raven with very expensive modules, with no chance to defend and no warning that this would happen whatsoever. Mind you this game ISNT like other MMOs that you lose and respawn. I lost MANY hours of my life for getting the Idk to buy those stuff .
Is this a new policy to alienate players that run missions in empire to never leave their system ??? THIS IS Unacceptable. I played many MMOs in my life due to my part time job as a journalist in a greek gaming magazine and I Never ever seen such kind of an abuse in a MMO from a company to a player using game mechanics.
I wait for the Customer support to talk to me about this and explain me why they abused me. They made me like a fool, like an idiot, they cheated and harassed me.
This is what I call griefing, and noone has the right to do it.

Edited by: Tobias Sjodin on 07/06/2006 14:20:30 It's called low-sec for a reason.
You just found out that rats warp-scramble in lower low-sec? (Rats can only scramble for 1 point, so I guess I caught your lie)
Battleship spawns ONLY occur in 0.0, so it's a game-mechanic.
I wish people would just stop blaming CCP for their own mistakes.

Errr ... so what are you complaining about?
The Ammatar hate you, they're going to shoot at you. Some NPC's warp scramble.
How does you not knowing how the game works, entitle you to any compensation or sympathy? ________________________________________________

Wait... NPCs are griefing you? This is too much
Anyway, what did you expect? You've been killing their people for months and aiding their arch-enemies. So they got a bit bitter, and shot at you. TBH, I think you've been griefing them. How many of their people have you killed? NPCs have no pods: there are hundreds of people on every NPC battleship. You've been committing virtual genocide, and you are suprised they attacked you?

First of all. CCP are entitled to everything they do, you saw that little pop-up window called the 'End User Licence Agreement' that popped up when you first entered the game? That basically says that they can do pretty much what they want to.
Secondly,
Originally by: Spiderweb I lost a Raven with very expensive modules, with no chance to defend and no warning that this would happen whatsoever. Mind you this game ISNT like other MMOs that you lose and respawn. I lost MANY hours of my life for getting the Idk to buy those stuff.
EVE is NOT like any other MMO out there, you can actually lose something in this game (unlike WoW for instance). You probably went through some Amarr/Ammatar High security space, if you do that, the Amarr Navy WILL fire on you if you have low standing with them. That is what happened, it's the game. Sorry you didn't do your homework and lost your ship, but such is life.
**** happens.

so you wonder that Ammatar Navy (which hold you at a standing that could only be slightly worse... I mean, almost -9 is something to get at) start shooting when you trespass their space? You've been mission whoring for Minmatar and in the process killed hundreds of Ammatar navy or amarr ships...

THe system I lost was EMPIRE. 0.9 secu while jumping towards dysa . the system was called NIRBHI safe system towards Dysa, whilst coming from Otosela system.
and the NPCs were Concord white ships around the Gate

To be fair, this that sort of stuff isn't exactly well documented.
On a side note, if he couldn't lock the navy ships to fight back, that sounds like a bug, cause IIRC you can fight them and apprently they not that hard to kill, kinda like 0.0 BS spawns.
But lesson learned, but you won't go through Amarr space again :D

I feel griefed. EULA is very clear on harassment. and there was no warning of insta kill with no chance to defend because of PVE game mechanics.

Just on a sidenote... Concord is not the Customs. If it was really Concord that is on your killmail, then petition it, if it is Amarr or Ammatar Navy... Sorry, but that's the way it is then. Not beeing aware of an issue doesn't make it non-existant ;)

That just blocked a huge part of the game for me, not to mention my access to my friends. With no warning. No chance to fight or escape. Punished by game mechanics for playing the game it self.

It wasn't concord, they only beat up minorities and homeless people.
It was faction police, who I understand it is entirely possible to beat (though admittedly hard in very high sec)

It's been like this for uhhh, years?
ccp should make it more public knowledge, but for you to be at -8.xx then you have done some serious mission whorage.. your caldari anyhow, U should be in good standing with amarr & caldari.. not the gal and minnies. ------------------------- WTB Aurora S bpo - Evemail me in game..

Tbh, i think its a bug. I was playing around some on sisi and noticed that if u have been fighting with caldari navy in a system, and then jump to a new system the Custom ships will attack you. And they make you unable to warp, lock and god knows what else

If the same with players, we're just more proactive about it. Shoot me or my corp/alliance I will find you and shoot you back, the NPC's just kinda go "Hey, if he comes here shoot him", so just don't go there.

Yes. You know pirates, who can't go to high sec at all? You are 4x as well off as them. Most things in eve are a commitment, but nothing is forever. You can get back sec, you can get back standing. You just have to work for it.
Tell me why you feel Amarr should let you in their space when you are an enemy of the state, please, I'm interested.

Actually there is a vid floating around of a guy warping to a gate and pwning all the NPC BS's with a Raven. Did it against both Gallente and Caldari and all with normal T1 fittings IIRC, so I don't think it's that hard.

ITS A GAME.
If this online programm wasnt running with the idea of "an MMO game" and "its business and pays the bill" nobody would play it cause it would be unbalanced.
Plus it wouldnt even have a EULA or anything like that. So dont think Role playing (oh the ammar hate me because bla blah) think game mechanics and connection to a customer
for crying out loud some people can get a good deal in life by unplugging themselves once in a while. ----------------------------------------------- We all live in a Yellow Submarine |

In fact he has right. Where is the manual or help that explain what means sec status with different factions? And where is in-game help and warning system when you are in danger to be pawned without any chance to escape by concord? CCP should work more on that aspect. Or Kali and factions wars will kill all us toghether. A lot of happy customers are spawning on future horizont.

If you want a game that is completely free from griefing, I suggest that you try another game.
What is acceptable or not is not for 1 person to decide, whether that person is writing for a gaming magazine or not. Feel free to share your opinion, but when someone plays the "I write for a gaming magazine so I'm right" card, it's unfortunately not something that makes me sympathise, but rather the opposite in fact.
My opinion on the matter is as follows :
* They should shoot you * It should be possible to fight back
This doesn't seem to be far from your own opinion, but I still get a bit annoyed at the way in which you lay out your arguments... ____________________ 55545555555555555555 |

Dude:
If you think that was bad wait till Kali comes out Anyone that has stuck with one mission base (amarr, mini, gallente, caldari...) is going to be in a rude suprise...
You just got "paid back in spades"
All you mission *****s have a little time to try and fix your factions with the other empires...If you dont...well take those travel fittings off your ships...you be kinda stuck...
but man this is priceless..."I am hated by Amarr Empire, but dont understand why they ganked me..."
This is as bad as it can get, but don't bet on it. |
