We have decided to do a complete test on POS's as they are proboly the most infamous part of the game when it comes to bugs. It's a huge test and we suspect that there are a lot of bugs out there that we don't know about.
Me and Sharkbait have laid down a small test plan in which we list all structure types and a small note on each of what needs to be tested. Test plan. - it's far from being everything we wan't to test, but it's a start.
If you are interested in helping us testing POS's or you just want to try to use them join the channel eve-pos on Singularity test server.
ps. if you know of a bug that is related to POS's and is not in the known issues list please post it here.

I would love to help out. In fact, I was testing out the POSes for bugs prior to the patch on Sisi anyway. Small problem though, ever since build 3913 was put in I have been unable to get onto the test server. I keep getting a
"Your character is located within (Milal), which is currently loading. Please try again in a moment"
When I try log in with my main, and when I try log with my Alts the loading bar sits at 100% for 15 minutes or so until the connection times out
This is obviously not the issue for everyone because I see over a hundred people are on Sisi right now... Any suggestions on how to fix it?

There was a broken patch for 3913 so basicly this is the fix. Delete contents of folder with sisi Copy eve TQ folder into SISI folder Auto-patch the copied client to sisi 3913 Log in and play

Oh man... I hate doing that...
I used to have to do it every couple of months when I would patch to a version and then then next day a new incompatible version would be up...
To be honest its easier for me just to DL the new client then copy over the Eve folder though. It freezes up my computer for about anhour when I do that
By The Way could someone add "Sentries firing on friendlies" to that list of POS bugs to check out? ive been testing it out on the main server with shuttles after a friend got her ship blown up. We have the POS set to fire on all strangers (under 0.1 standing) so we set our Corp standings toward her to +10.0. Even when she has the forcefield password put in, the guns will randomly open fire.

Try linking them when the silo is still offline.. Not sure if it has any effect but it seems to connect faster than linking them when online.
O h and make sure you hit "Apply" before you close the management window

tested today POS-es Had issues with silo and moon harvester linking had to relink many times before it started to harvest correctly
and POS mails freezed my eve mail system.. totally mails loaded up like 5 minutes...

some things to add to the checklist I guess: reinforced mode fuel/stront usage, which modules can activate, onlining/offlining stuff in reinforced etc stuff with checking the tower settings and shooting/not shooting things its supposed to corp/alliance/role access to modifying items fuel usage with sov maint arrays letting you refit/move drones without using cap stuff with high sec empire pos: agression/charter usage
more when I can think of it ;[ ------

bug submitted long ago related to maintenance arrays:
i dont now if it is 100% reproduceable but this is how it happeneds:
fit a ship that contains launchers in space at a maintenance array. (perhaps mount launchers)
go into belt and discover that full loaded and online launchers claim to be empty. (i submitted screenshot showing full launchers and the message on screen)
only workaround is to stuff your ship into the maintenance array and pull it out again, after that the launchers work as supposed to.
unloading/reloading/offlining/onlining/logging - has been tested and did not work.
leaving 0.0 and dock in empire might work and couse ship loss on a rainy day.

That test plan is a little light.
Most of the serious issues with pos's that I've seen involve combat and anchoring/unanchoring
Here are some things to test: 1) Test that the guns shoot at people below X standing if that setting is set. 2) The agression setting in the pos. It should only attack people who agress the tower, or maybe people who agress a corporation member on grid at the tower. It shouldn't agress against members who are above the standings threshhold who have just shot at somebody by accident or repaired them. 3)REINFORCED MODE a) Test that people can't put more fuel in while in reinforced. Try people with various roles in the corp. Haven't heard of it lately, but there used to be ways to refuel them. b)Make sure that people can't modify the reinfoced mode time. Make sure they can't add or take strontium out. Also make sure that they can't offline/unanchor any modules while in reinforced mode.
4)Take a look at unanchoring. Last time I checked you couldn't unanchor stuff at the tower if the tower was offline. Seems silly.
5)Get a freighter full of towers. Drop them all at a moon. a) Try to anchor more than one tower at the moon. b) Just anchor 1 tower. Leave the other ones floating. Then anchor some guns. Attack the tower a few times, and wait a few downtimes. Make sure that the other towers don't interfere with the tower that is anchored. In the past I've seen problems that appeared like the unanchored towers had somehow become associated with the guns causing them to go offline... c) Let one tower just sit there online with the other towers unanchored. Wait a few downtimes, and make sure that that force field doesn't magically disappear.
5) Turn the agression setting off. Have people who do not have the proper standings with the corp attack the tower. Make sure the tower always fires back. Test this for enemies in an alliance, not in an alliance, and in a noob corp.
6) Put a bunch of ships inside a tower. Experiment with various corps and various standings and see if its possible for soembody to board a ship that is inside the tower. Also make sure that people who are not of the proper standing to not get attacked can't get inside the force field.
That's just some stuff off the top of my head. I haven't really messed with POS's much in 6 months or so. But The tests I listed above should turn up some interesting things.

Any chance of seeing some "Fast POS" Control Towers; something that speeds up anchoring & onlining times; I've been playing around with a large tower, but I'm STILL out here, anchoring and onlining stuff.
I know you have them, I spotted one on a scanner in HED-GP, if I remember correctly, a few weeks ago.

Very good suggestion, only problem is if they mess around with things on the test server then it may add/solve issues on accident. It might solve an issue on sisi but still be anissue on tranquility or vice versa

The stuff is already there; they wouldn't be adding or changing anything new, other than possibly seeding these testing POSes onto the market on Sisi.

hi im EXTREMLY new to POS building so i havnt submitted a bug report wiether this is one or not i dont know ill let you guys tell me.

Here are a list of issues I have heard rumours of during my time operating POSs. I haven't ever brought these up because i have absolutely no proof (and I have noted where I have seen these first hand):
Projectile Guns: - Check to make sure that the Ammo doesn't disappear. Fill all guns with ammo and then check daily after downtime to see if the ammo is still there. Given the frequency that this happens with I would think you will need to keep checking for a couple months. This would be confirmed aside from the fact that I could have potentially not put ammo inthe guns at first, and since I didn't write that down I am not 100% sure. But others have mentioned it as well. And it seems the longer a tower is online and the longer between the times when I check ammo the more likely there is no ammo in a projectile array.
Liquid Ozone/Heavy Water Miscalc --CONFIRMED--: The time remaining on Liquid Ozone and Heavy water is incorrect. This can be easily identified by watching how much fuel is consumed over a tower tick, and then calculating how much time should be left. In my experience towers do not develop this issue, rather it is something that a tower has when first put online, and sometimes it goes away (eventually, after more then 1 DT). I have only seen this on small towers, and I have only seen it underestimate the time left. I have confirmed this in 2 seperate instances on Tranquility.
Low Fuel Warnings: Does the fuel warning evemail get sent out automatically at the correct time? Or does it go out early (may be tied in with the issue above).
Stront and Soverignty: Does the time shown in reinforced mode accurately account for the stront in the tower considering that the system is soverign? I have heard no, but this is pure hersay.
All components Offlining but tower --CONFIRMED-- (may be already fixed): I have fully documented this issue, with multiple bug reports. More details can be found in this thread.
After anchoring a component you can't right click and online it: This happens sporatically, and I have experienced it first hand. The work around is to add the component to the overview then you can access the right click menu from there. Also if you log off and on it corrects itself. I have only had this happen with Silos and Component Assembly Arrays.
No UI when getting in ship from maint array: Experienced first hand. Occasionally you don't get the "circle" UI when you board a ship from the Ship Maint array (I don't remember this ever being the case when you launch the ship and board it). Ejecting from the ship and reboarding it fixes the problem.
Ship not put in array: Sometimes even though you are withing range the ship you are leaving (as you board a ship from in the array) doesn't get put in the array and just sits there in space.
Can add Strontium to tower in Reinforced: This is one I have heard a few times, although not for a while, so it may have been fixed.
Tower "deattaches" from moon: This is one I have heard about as well. A common belief is that if you don't anchor the tower at the warp in point (you move the green box) then this is more likely.
That is everything off the top of my head. I'm happy to help test this stuff and will be joining the channel when I log into SiSi. __________

this has happened to my corp mate multiple times, also theres a cosmetic bug for mining barges. when you put the stip miner or ice harvestor mods on a mining barge, the graphic when used does not show up. in other words, your ship is mining but you do not see the mining lasers from your ship. the only way to fix it is to put the ship back in htes ship array and re-board it. ___________________________________________

in the same alliance, corp A own the POS, Corp B are in the same alliance.
=> Ammo/drone/ship assembly array can't be used by corp B, despite the fact the modules of the pos are set acces alliance. when you click "Acces storage" it inform you that you are not in the good corp
=> Ofen when a ship is build in the pos and put in space, corp B can't board it, but she can board other ship in the pos.
=> Gun don't fire & scramble not full times ( a corp B member as attacked by mistake in the front of a Corp A large CT, the ct shoot him ... but he can warp out ...)
=> I don't see how you can evade the stealing of ship in a corp, and don't speak : "put ship in assembly array", it's unpossible to be viable when you are in a corp who live in a POS in deep 0.0
=> Confirmed the problem with no "circle" when boarding ship, just neee to change session (system for exemple).
=> Ship don't have name and is not propely tagged in overview (don't have look in space) when you board it, it's named "ibis" and you can't have the name of the pilot, pretty annoying.
=> Small CT (and i suppose medium CT) have the collision size of a large CT, and the visual size of a small/medium CT. Pretty boring to access a module who is in the other side of the CT.
=> no turret, mining laser & other is show when you board a ship, it appear to be unfitted
=> When you put a modules, by drag & drop, without the CPU/PG it simply appear to be offline, you need to put it online again to have the error message and know how many CPU/PG you lack
=> Some old title (set more than 6month ago) don't work to acces corporate hangard array but the samel title given to a new member allow him (things defined by roles and the coporate have "corporation" acces)
=> Pre-last patch it can be possible to give the right to online/offline some modules, without the right ot offline/online the CT, now doesn't work.
=> We need the hability to store ship per-member to allow them to protect their asset, a thief can do a lot of damage to a corp based on POS, and you can't do something agains that

I think this goes with POS testing retreiver(med barge) mining ice, 1 expander
yet still it gave the error about cargo full when the 2nd laser cycled 1 sec later but still deposited the ice in cargo maybe I was delusional at the time as I was mining ice, but I was getting the error with no expanders and figured i'd try 1 to see if it stops.... ----------------------------------------- TCC Diplomatic core + combat pilot talk or shoot, makes no difference to me :) |

I'm sure you are supposed to be able to do this but I cannot make it work all in corp hangers 1) BPo's 4 jumps away 2) POS medium Advanced constrtution Array in 0.3 system, with hanger / ship yard - all fuled up, anchored, online 3) hangers will with tech2 components and minerals and stuff [both in safe space station and low sec POS] 4) select from either POS or main station the BPo you want to build 5) select the adavenced construction array, OK, it displays calculating quote and never comes out from it.
I have been told that you can do this if the BPO is in a hanger in the same system - but I cannot make it work from a distance.
