So you waited forever for Kronos to download....
1) Are you playing Eve, checking out all the new stuff? .... 2) or scratching your head, wondering how many cups of coffee or energy drinks it'll take to be able to play?
Please post OS and Wine versions, and if #1 or #2 applies.

Ubuntu 13.10/x64, Wine 1.6.1 .... all good, smooth as could be.
FreeBSD 10/x64, Wine 1.6 ... update went smooth. Afterwards I tried to start from launcher, locked up. Launched fine without launcher.
Have a few others here.... only ones having a problem are Ubuntu 14 w/Wine 1.7 and PC-BSD 10 w/Wine 1.7... but they had quirks before Kronos.... possibly the 1.7

Ubuntu 14.04, wine 1.6.2, geforce 210
Zero problems on patching (got lucky with the launcher!) and zero problems running in a 'ceptor.
(I finally finished another skill, I'm never going to break 50 but, I might as well try. http://eveboard.com/pilot/Kismeteer/ranks )

New Eden Store worked for me when I launched wine from EVE directory (cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/CCP/EVE/; wine blah-blah). But maybe it just CCP fixed the problem with it - there was a dev post about New Eden Store connection being based on some credentials which are created in working directory. |

I'm still having trouble with patshes and updates, they randomly work or don't work for me but just re-installed client and is working fine :
Ubuntu 14.04 Wine 1.6.2
Dell E6420 with intel integrated graphics (driconf required!)
Launcher seems a little slow, I can log in but there is a 2-3 minites wait for the 'Play' button and progress bar to go from grey to yellow. Not causing an issue but I haven't noticed this under Windows 7.
It seems to have been decent for a while now - I think I am going to be brave with my new build (next couple of months) and try playing under Linux on my main PC not just my laptop. See how it manages multiple clients etc.

Launcher is broken in wine on Linux due to an SSL bug, I understand. Don't use it. Check the Ubuntu How To to avoid the launcher. This way, you can just jump into the game without the launcher page. Plus multi-instance easier.

Actually, the launcher has been working perfectly fine for a while now, at least for me. I can't say when it stopped being ****** though. I have always been running the most current wine, so maybe whatever broke the launcher got fixed somewhere in 1.7.x. |

Works for me under 1.6.2 just a bit slow, I used to go direct to the executable and bypass the launcher too. It even did the latest patch for me which is a first.

Bugger, seems my first reply did not come through.
Running Debian jessie 64bits. Wine 1.6.2 32bits on following:
Rig: AMD FX-8320 - 2x HD7870 X-fire, 16GB memory. Notebook: MSI GT663, Intel i5, Nvidia GTX460M, 8GB memory
Launcher works, apart from the scrolling piccies not working. EVE itself runs fine except for Captains Quarters, but that hasn't been working for a couple of years now.
Cheers

Everything is working great on Kubuntu 14.04 & Wine 1.7.22
Launcher works as intended. Patching to Crius went smooth as well.
Entering CQ causes the game to crash, but that`s not something new.

Kubuntu 14.04LTS, WINE 1.7.22, nvidia 331 on a GTX560Ti.
All max settings but medium AA, vsynced to rock solid 60fps in most cases. Crius update thru Launcher without a problem. I run the game thru a desktop entry linked as foreign app to the native Linux Steam client... << THE RABBLE BRIGADE >> |
