Dear ccp as you can clearly see I am no where active on the forms but I finally feel its time to raise a point and ultimately an affirmation of where not only you want to go but where we will will go my question is simple why can we not expand the game in all directions vs only making the game easier for new people while leaving us older players to see what we have worked so hard to obtain to no longer be what we wanted like the most disappointed kid at Christmas
I can completely understand the logic of making the game easier for newer players the eve life is hard and complicated and frankly quiet daunting but why must we all whom have played for years suffer to people who have never played or only just started it feels like to me personally that all you care about is getting that subscription number higher
why would it be so hard to develop content for both sides of your experience ladder make challenges for us older players instead of us dealing with the same.old bull crap but with more and more missing limbs it almost seems like a cop out or something
I know there are talented people there at ccp and it is my dream to work for you guys once I've obtained my college degree but what is do wrong about bring something harder then incursions or making new space where no one can guess where or what will follow I know I dont know hardly anything about design process yet but I figured if I didn't speak up then I can't complain about the direction
so to sum it all make certain aspects easier that is a necessity I understand for new players to feel like they can tackle this game in due time but bring more challenged to us older pilots we will tackle anything you can bring to the table no matter the circumstance we will find a way we who are like the water of new Eden will continue to rise to your expectations we are capsuleers now bring it |

Erm... OP? Are you alright? I hope so. I just wanted to let you know that CCP has never stated that their intention is to focus solely on new players, excluding those players that have been here for a longer period of time. CCP has stated that they want to completely re-do the new player experience so that it better reflects what EvE is all about, including stopping the current trend where a new player joins the game and if they stay(which is unlikely, since so many leave) they are much more likely to only play solo, doing PvE and to not interact with others. These new players become not so new players that are more likely to leave after a relatively short period of time. CCP would like to see these new players [i]NOT/i] become purely solo PvE players, but instead to become players that interact with others and explore more or, even better, all aspects of EvE before settling on those areas that they enjoy, and to enjoy those areas with a diverse group of other players. |

With a game that revolves around player interaction, focusing on newer players can have a residual effect on older players, without the need to simply add more "endgame content". CCP's Motto: If it isn't broken, break it. If it is broken, ignore it. Improving NPE-á/ Dynamic New Eden |

OP, what exactly do you think is challenging for new players? Can you be specific? .. when everything else is gone .. |

I think a poster above hit the nail on the head with any ccp content losing it's challenge when it's well known and guides are published and optimised.
If you want a real challenge load up on ammo and go dismantle that blue doughnut I keep reading about.

Also ill try my best to respond in kind to everyone but going back and forth over a cell I'm sorry if I get jumbled up. I can understand your point of dynamic inversion for new players to see the world to find there nitch in this vast array of space we all call home in some way shape or form. I still feel so much is being geared at how to make things easier for new players and take away from us players I'm sorry that I can't t recall whom this is a (pathetic) rebuttal to but yea you'll know it (I'm working ny way down top to bottom to respond) |

Sybll (terribly sorry for the misspell) (also if anyone hasn't picked up I am not an English major so you know typical American) I am finding almost no challenge for new players other then being new to eve. Its easier to train now in specific directions . Maybe I'm just finding it a bit unfair that I had to spend so much time training and cross training to get even to a simple platform to further myself . Now obviously new players have to train from the ground up and it takes time but it seems almost too easy. And it seems like in every other dev blog I read they mention making it easier for players to get into this ship or to go do that . Idk maybe on just stuck in my ways |

I have almost zero proficiency in speaking other languages (much less write them), so you are doing fine.
You need to pick one thing. A ship, an activity (like.. explo) and then only skill into it. EVE is a huge game and eventually you'll feel like discovering other things, but at the beginning decide on the one thing your pilot will be good at, and pursue it. If you have questions about what to skill you can ask here, in Help chat, or evemail me.
Even at that one thing, your pilot will not be very good at in the beginning because skills take time. This is perfectly OK, and it is a good thing for you.. because the ships you lose at this stage will be very cheap. Your clones will be very cheap to replace. And some people will spend a lot of time and be patient with you because it will be obvious you are new. Why is all this good? Because it will teach you accept failure and come back in 5 minutes to try again.
1. Specialize 2. Accept failure (and death) as learning experiences

It looks like a poem, but it doesn't read like one.
Im going to go throw on a beret, a black or striped sweater, some sunglasses, grab myself a bongo and head to the local coffee shop to read it out loud to see if that helps. Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings? |

Clearly you have not seen the fan fest presientation for ccp presents to know 'end game' stuff is coming.
What people see as catoring to new plays is actually building blocks for future stuff. Making isis and other tools so you can quickly get information and plan things out makes everyone's game in the long run better. The industry changes have a lot of improvements both for new and old players and brings old singe thread code upto date with newer multi thread stuff. Then once industry is 'fixed' which it has needed a look for years, that have the base set to work on corps and alliances, then they can mess with pos' and finally sov. Then new space. Its all laid out. Each piece of the puzzle needs to be addressed before moving on, as everything is interconnected. Industry affects things in corp and alliance, which affects standings for pos', which affects sov. Which is needed for new space.
