Yes, we're doing it again: recruitment!
We need dedicated and capable writers that are willing to report on events, both player and npc. These are the criteria you need to conform to in order for us to consider you:
- 18 years or older - Be creative and a team player - A good grasp of eveÆs Prime Fiction - A good grasp of where the different factions, player and NPC, stand - Excellent writer
If you are interested in being a part of the eve news team, please fill in the ISD application form, and select Interstellar Correspondents. If you have applied to ISD before please update your application and mark the IC box.
What we do
The IC do more then just write news alone, we actually give people an idea of what is going on in New Eden. This means we engage ourselves with CCP news as well. We can write reponses to it and refer to it in smaller news, so that it's all a neat package and it aids to the feeling of immersion. We work closely with CCP and all our news is made background and pf proof, so if you are interested in this it might be another reason to join. Although it's not our first responsibility we sometimes write chronicles as well.
Thanks for your interest, feel free to ask me questions.

Again with this 18 or older thing. So just because I am a teenager means that I do not have proper writing skills?
You think just because I'm below 18 that I will fill any articles I write with "Lol and lk thn they wnt BOOOOOM and i ws all lke WOOOOO"
What sense does that make? I am just as mature as any 30 year old. I mean, I play this game, that's gotta count for something!
No, I'm not bitter. Ok maybe a little.

I don't suppose there is an off chance that there might be some workaround involving parents/legal guardians? I certainly would like that if it's not too much to ask. _____________________________________________

I seem to remember reading that they don't automatically exclude applications from people with warnings but simply take the number and reasons into account. ______________________ 106 days and still a hijack virgin... Cherry popped! ~kieron

There is only room for one naughty forum user in the IC and that is me, people with forum warnings can apply but it depends on the warnings whether you can get in or not.

Eris, this is something I'd actualy like to participate in. My spelling is crap, but word has a spell checker, but I am looking for is a library or sorts with fiction, etc to read, so I can get up-to-date on whats cooking within the factions of EVE.
Also, I'm guessing you assign a article to a couple reporters and then we submit and you choose and not a case of "you're crap, you're fired, gtfo" ;)

Honestly Eris, I just don't think I could cope with being rejected by you again. I just narks me that I was good enough before, but now mysteriously I am the leper of Eve.
What, however, I just can not tolerate is the fact that events in Eve (I know this isn't your bag, not a dig at you) are in such a farcicle state, and yet people who could really make a difference are ignored. The one thing that Eve lacks the most are tangible story arcs. Events and IC need to be working together to bring Eve alive. Constantly we hear that CCP are working on it, and yet the results are sadly lacking. It is perfectly conceiveable that the people involved are doing all they can. I want to believe that, and there is no reason not to. But, if that is true, why aren't we seeing the results? Maybe 'all they can' is just not enough?
Eve needs flavour, and it just isn't there.
More and more the whole unique fabric of the Eve Universe slowly fades to grey; a homoginised mess of "if's" and "but's".
This is Eve's greatest failing in my eyes, and yet I am condemed to sit on the sidelines and watch it happen.
Frustration, sadness, and anger fill my very being.
Maybe passion is a bad thing?
Eve used to be a pretty shabby game in an amazing setting. Now it is a damn good game in a pretty, but shabby setting.
Gah .. I didn't expect to type all that. Sorry if I offended anyone, especially those people who already give up their free time to help make Eve what it is. I'm sure they are equally frustrated at times.

The chronicles, short stories and scientific articles in the backstory section are a great source of eve prime fiction.

We dont make reporters compete with each other to see who can write the better article, however sometimes reporters will work together on an article if needed.
As Eris said we can teach you how to structure your work and all IC's regularly recieve feedback on their writing. Gnauton and Tony Gonzales have also provided us with several helpful texts on style and grammar so prospective reporters arent without the opportunity to improve their writing skills
