I was hoping this thread would be about actual ship spinning improvements such as ability to compete with others at the same station, Roman numeral counter, secret music tracks when you hit milestones, free PLEX for 10k spins instead of 30k spins as it is now.. .. when everything else is gone .. |

Hint: We've already discussed poker tables and Ye Olde Taverne stuff. I mean what would YOU put there that isn't terrible and immersion breaking but would be more interesting than shooting other people in beautifully rendered ships in space? .. when everything else is gone .. |

It adds an entire world apart from what we already play in. To ask this is like asking me to design a whole game in one post. Just start with what you mentioned and keep adding from there.
What if we could also kill each other and then try to steal a portion of the other's isk by stealing a card or some information stored on an implant on them and then trying to hack into a terminal? Evade concord on foot and the person's body guard using stealth mechanics.
What about betting on dust 514 fights or Legion fights from a special room dedicated to it? It's much more immersive this way rather than sitting in a pod and watching it from there (and more interesting).
What about adding smuggling missions for criminal elements in New Eden? What about assassination missions or the sort that someone like a capsuleer who looks relatively like a normal human is much more suited to carry out rather than a dust 514 mercenary, and doesn't risk truly dying?
What would I put there? I could come up with a hundred ideas just to add more content to this game where there's a huge amount of people that literally just sit in the station and spin their ships. |

Legion, as it's been shown, is just an update to Dust 514 to bring it into an MMO universe and get away from being an "mmo" that's just an FPS with a glorified lobby. It doesn't fill any sort of niche as it is. |

After WOD has been canned, I dont think CCP is quite ready or able to produce an Avatar based game. Because thats what WIS needs to be, if it wants to be worth while.
And if CCP do magically create a full avatar based space station environment game with content..... why the hell would they insert it into Eve and thus receive very little revenue for it. It would make more sense to develop it an a stand alone game.
Which they dont have a good track record with at the moment.

Why dont we give CCP the time they need to actually do it right? Or are you a WIS-hater hoping theyll deploy too soon, muck it up, and the whole project will finally get ****-canned?
Because if youre really an Incarna-supporter, as I am, then you really need to sit back, exercise some patience, and play EVE as it is.
The LAST thing we want is some WOW / SWTOR / whoknowswhatotherpos knockoff to get rushed out the door because of threads like this one.o

But I think this is more of an industry/FIS thing rather than WIS.. unless you mean I should actually balance a boiling flask on a burner using my mouse and then time a reaction and look for color, etc. (I think this is tedious.. minigames should be kept to a minimum imho)
What about assassination missions or the sort that someone like a capsuleer who looks relatively like a normal human is much more suited to carry out rather than a dust 514 mercenary, and doesn't risk truly dying? I think there should be penalties for walking around outside your pod. The transmission circuitry to send your consciousness to the next clone would have to be lightweight and possible of limited function, so there would be some penalities to walking around and trying to assassinate someone. .. when everything else is gone .. |

I don't particularly mind bringing in twitch gameplay somewhat and don't see how you'd get around it.

The point is bringing them together. Smuggle contraband through space and then make the final portion of the delivery in person because they're contraband and if you're offloading them from your ship to your station items where they presumably can be inspected, problems will occur.

Not sure what kind of penalties you'd inflict. I'd be against losing SP.
The main point is, though, that this literally opens up an entirely new realm of possibilities. Just to add on to it a little, what if you let players own the places where bets are made on Dust 514 fights? What if you let them own the bars? What if you let them assign the assassination contracts for some other form of intel or access to information in their account such as owned POS locations or something like that?
You literally open up such an expansive realm of ideas, and they can be iterated upon, that it's another game on its own.

Just like Eve in that you never have to undock, you never have to exit your pod into station.
On top of that: Add crew training to the game. All of our ships do have crews, but we never see them and never interact with them.
Why not allow capsuleers the ability to have a crew training program where they can train the crew and then sell the crew contract to others? Allow it for better cap or shield recharge, etc.
Same thing with body guards and mercenaries for while walking around stations.
The limits are endless. Not to mention that mechanics like this would take Eve further away from a niche market and appeal to a HUGE array of gamers, thus bringing in a lot more revenue.
On top of this, more people would actually buy the in-game apparel items. They do it in other MMOs, they'll do it in Eve too if you provide an environment to show them off in. |

If CCP was smart, the door in the CQ would lead to a room type selection screen where you can choose between Legion, Valkyrie and Eve Online.
A slightly triangular room perhaps where on each wall there would be a holographic avatar. One wall would be your Legion locker showing your holographic avatar in combat armor, another would be your Valkyrie locker showing your holographic avatar in flight gear, and the Eve locker showing your holographic avatar wearing its pretty Barbie clothes. Also on each wall would be a door that leads to the respective barracks/quarters for each game.
It would be a more immersive style selection screen and make the games feel more tied to each other, not to mention make use of that seemingly useless WiS mechanic.
