Dev blogs and official information
- The New Eden Store - Forum discussion
The NEX store, useful to purchase in-game items such as apparel and ship skins, has been replaced by the New Eden Store which provides both a much improved user interface and a considerably upgraded visual experience. Please note that the New Eden Store cannot be accessed if you bypass the EVE Launcher. The shortcut to access the New Eden Store in game is ALT+4.
- POCOs and Wars coming to an API near you! - Forum discussion
CCP FoxFour comes with a bag of information and presents improvements to the API and CREST so that you can receive information about your Player Owned Custom Offices via the API. You also learn how to access data about public wars and what work has been done on third party development documentation.
- New Chronicle: Yetamo
A new Chronicle by CCP Delegate Zero is available. This Chronicle is titled Yetamo and has to do with two Minmatar orbital engineers who get into trouble with nanotechnology.
- New Chronicle: The Station and the Bazaar
Two Chronicles in one day! CCP Abraxas presents his latest Chronicle called The Station and the Bazaar which deals with the new type of pirate research installation that went live with Kronos. Read more about these installations also here.
News articles
- Kronos has been successfully deployed on June 3, 2014
Kronos, the first of many following releases in the new six week deployment cycle, has been successfully deployed during the announced extended downtime. More information about Kronos can be found on the Kronos release page. Feedback about this release is welcome here, please report issues here. The full patch notes are available here.

Devposts on the forum
- All Killmails to be made public?
While the idea to make all killmails public was discussed both on the forums and during Fanfest, the decision for now was made to not publish all killmails automatically according to CCP FoxFour. Killmails relating to wars however will still be made available.
- How to pull mails from char via the API?
CCP FoxFour explains a way to receive your character's EVE mails via the API. It is very simple when you are using Python and the evelink library.
- Advertise on EVE TV during AT XII
If you would like to advertise on EVE TV during the Alliance Tournament XII, then CCP Loxy's explanation will help you with good general rules and technical specifications. When your advertisement is ready, please submit it to [email protected]!
- Gecko drones are updated with Kronos
The Gecko drones, which were given as gift for the 11 year anniversary celebration of EVE Online, got also updated with the drone rebalance in Kronos. Their optimal range got changed, but not their base damage.
- Static blueprint data adjustment - Draft #4
CCP Greyscale continues his very constructive and excellent discussion with the community regarding the static blueprint data adjustment scheduled for the Crius release on July 22nd. The latest draft, version 4, can be found here. Please check the discussion thread for further information!
- Freighter/Jumpfreighter balance and ganking
With the Kronos release Freighters and Jump Freighters received three low slots to allow customization. CCP Fozzie would like to remind everyone that feedback is gathered continuously and that further rebalancing might occur if necessary. Currently it is not believed that this balance is a step too far against gankers.
- Pirate implant changes
The formerly known low-grade pirate implants were renamed in Kronos to mid-grade implants (amongst other changes). Additionally new low-grade pirate implants were introduced. Sites which contained those former low-grade implants will now contain mid-grade implants.
- Improvements in Expansion/Release/Patch quality
When asked about the quality improvements of patches during the recent years, CCP Goliath (QA Director) explains that the constant strive for improvement is doing its work. Further good information can be found in the presentation at Fanfest 2014.
- Continued work on third party developer documentation
CCP FoxFour informs us about the ongoing work on the third party developer documentation. Many thanks also to those in the community who are helping improving this documentation!
- A few reasons why I'm excited for Kronos
CCP Manifest gives some reasons why he as a player is excited about Kronos. Many more developers follow his example and explain their most liked features coming with Kronos. Please do not forget that developers also enjoy playing EVE a lot and are passionate about this wonderful game.
- Coverting AUR to PLEX is not possible
While it is possible to convert PLEX into AUR, it is not possible to convert AUR back into PLEX as CCP Xhagen explains. Exchanging AUR into PLEX was never possible.
- Guristas Infiltration
Mordu's Legion is trying to pin down the location of highly important Covert Research Facilities owned by the Guristas. For that they require capsuleers to discover their location. Scan down Contested Guristas Covert Research Facilities with scan probes, and hack their transponder towers. Doing so will reward you with Guristas Data Sequences, which you can then turn in to the Legion in 5ZXX-K in exchange for BPCs for their new faction ships. The Data Sequences can al... This week in EVE : Tiptoe through the ToolTips thread got unstickied, Does this mean you guys are done with "Iteration" of this "Feature"?
Cause we of your player base would really like more to happen on this. Starting with, but not ending with, a way to turn them off.
With the last post of a dev in that thread by CCP Karkur (#1029 Posted: 2014.05.29 00:40) mentioning that something was a known defect, Any word on when you guys will fix the things you broke? or is it "Finished" and we need to play through this terrible UI thing.
At the very least the Dev blog was aptly named. For we must mouse carefully lest we get one of the tool tips to spawn.
Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

Similar treatment was given to the recent defective changes to the tracking camera. Despite unresolved concerns and reported issues from numerous players, the feedback thread for Dev blog: Tracking Camera UI Improvements is now 'locked indefinitely' without resolution or explanation. Regarding tracking camera and look at, yes this is an issue since you should lose the tracking camera focus at exactly the same time in the subject's warp sequence as you would lose the lock (if you had a lock on them). Isnt the whole point of sticky to denote its importance? That is why its kept at top no?
I mean, I understand why you want it, among many other threads to get buried but its not finished, and its not good. Its not as game breakingly bad as the Unified Inventory, but its pretty annoying and when the slider is put to longest time interval much of the old style tip functionality is removed, while having it on any other setting creates tons of small popups that are intrusive and not usefully informative. Because there is no setting for : 1. which popups you want to appear and which you do not, 2. How long the popups remain after the cursor is moved from the opject that caused them to appear 3. What level of computer literacy the user has to filter the "This is a window" tip from opening. 4. Where the tool tips appear
there is no real middle ground that We as users can manage to find that retains or improves on gameplay from before. From Post #1089 Posted: 2014.06.07 01:55
CCP Delegate Zero wrote: It's clear some of you don't agree with us about some of the issues. We acknowledge that and we have taken onboard some valuable points.
While this is nice to hear, it also doesnt say anything. What issues of ours do you understand? What feedback is under consideration and what does that actually mean? Why is a tooltip off switch, off the table when that is the single most requested item for this new "feature" and what is being done about mitigating the other concerns posted in the thread about tool tips?
Since that post CCP Karkur has posted three times #1107 #1111 and #1117 2014.06.11 00:02, two of which were not even about tool tips but about the absolute readout of Shield Armor and Structure that can be toggled on and off. No mention of the Capacitor which was part of the persons post she was responding to, And happens to only be available through a tool tip.
It has only been two days since that last Karkur post and six days since Delegate Zero, but this is not a new issue. and with it being unstickied because of "routine server maintenance" that simply underscores how long this has been an issue with the new Iteration of tool tips.
This is a long post for what should have been a quick fix and a non-important feature improvement. Instead its become this ridiculous point of contention with a dev who has 7 posts in his 57 page Month old thread. Two of which do not relate any relevant information as they are not topic posts, and two of which are simply to say that nothing has been done "yet". This **** is getting sad. Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.
