You know, eve really needs an early warning system for pirates, and hostile actions, like a proximity alert, maybe it could be a sound, or maybe Aura could say "Alert". It just seems odd that the ship doesnt care.
I say this now, because, when i mine, I cant just sit there and watch it mine all day so i go and watch some TV or play my DS, and most of the time they're half way throught my sheilds and I didnt even notice, its just that the tiny sound from the gunfire isnt enough. |

Okay, I can't come up with anything origional. How about a nice, plain "Warning, ship under fire." Or even "Warning, your ship has been locked."
Or both.
Both would be nice, too.
I don't care what she says, just make her talk more.

Like a sound when you are being shot at? Or a sound when pirates enter the system, cause if it were when pirates enter the system that would be a no lol.
But if it's a sound when you're getting shot it would get really really annoying to people who pvp a lot

Neither I think what he is on about is a warning that sounds when a hostile appears in the overview.

How do you know they're hostile? Is it because they're a war target and show as red in the overview? Or a nasty pirate and are blinking red in the overview or have a skull in the overview?
Get where I'm going with this?

The corporate "nudge" idea is a good one, I hate having to check every few seconds while forum whoring to see if someone posted. Make it an option though, for the love of everything.

its simple, don't use macros, if your not looking at the screen for long enough to get half blown away and are not using a macro then exactly how are you mining?

I once lost an apoc and got podded in 0.0 being afk, I thought I warped out but I got stuck on an asteroid.
That was the apoc I lost to eating waffles, and thus after that I name most of my Apocs waffles.
But, on the topic of the alert, your ship exploding is a great one.

Unless you're implying that people whose hearing is better than their vision should be barred from playing the game properly, then no, I don't. ________________________________________________

Its not that big of a prob.... and I dont get podded, I mine in 0.7 space -_-, this is a problem everywhere, not just in 0.0, and for the Eve fanatics out there you can go ahead and stare at your ship while it works but i find time to multitask, I just thought it would be nice for Aura to talk a little more, mybe liek when your about to be podded she "advises you to leave" or stuff like that, you can always be able to turn it off.
Make her pull some wheight, she doenst do much after the tutorial anyway, accept for tell you your warp drive is on(wish i had someone to tell me my stove was on) and tell you your warping. Small things are nice. _____________________________________________________ In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king. |

You have 3 options:
1: Setup your ship to have a constantly running tank. 2: turn your speakers up so you can hear rates fireing/locking 3: Actually monitor the game while you play. --------------------------------------------- I hear Linux can cure cancer and raise your sperm count. - Dionysus Davinci

I've often thought that if certain people got their wish and players didn't automatically show up in local anymore, then we should get proximity alarms. Ship sensors would detect when someone is warping in your direction, giving you enough time warp away if you're alert enough.
Otherwise, things seem fine as they are. Although a klaxon sounding off when under attack might be nice in some situations (assuming I could toggle it off).

Alright Im getting tired off this, I have a barge, it takes a long damn time to yeild, im not just going to sit there and stare at it, I DO monitor it, its not like i LEAVE it, i sit in front of the desk and play my DS or watch TV.
Again, its not a big problem, so go away you flammers, I could care less if this didnt happen, "then why are you replying so much?" god I hate using forums, all of you forumers are the same, your like wolves! Im going to play Eve now, you flammers can go look for someone else to get a hit on. _____________________________________________________ In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king. |

We used to have this with the 'threat warning box' back in the day (before that overview malarky). Probably the thing I miss the most .. the sounds could send a tingle down your spine.

Turn up your speakers? Turn of the music then though. Although the sound of the mining lasers might be enough to take the risk of getting blown up if you do that. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

One idea might be monitoring the combat logs for hostile actions, such as damage to the shields etc, and play a claxon when it's found. I don't know what CCPs view on these kind of third-party programs are though, could anyone clear this up for me?
