Hello,
I'm curious if it'd be legal to use a Macro program to do only this:
I want to bind a single key to fire all my weapons. Therefore I'd just like to bind a single key to hit the appropriate Fkeys so I can save my keyboard some wear and tear.
Is this okay?

Originally by: EULA 7. CONDUCT A. Specifically Restricted Conduct Your continued access to the System and license to play the Game is subject to proper conduct. Without limiting CCP's rights to control the Game environment, and the conduct of the players within that environment, CCP prohibits the following practices that CCP has determined detract from the overall user experience of the users playing the Game:
1. You may not take any action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on the System. 2. You may not use your own or third-party software to modify any content appearing within the Game environment or change how the Game is played. 3. You may not use macros or other stored rapid keystrokes or other patterns of play that facilitate acquisition of items, currency, objects, character attributes, rank or status at an accelerated rate when compared with ordinary Game play. You may not rewrite or modify the user interface or otherwise manipulate data in any way to acquire items, currency, objects, character attributes or beneficial actions not actually acquired or achieved in the Game.
That's the part of the EULA that would cover it. I guess the question is does firing all your guns into space constitute "acquisition of items, blah blah at an accelerated rate". Personally I don't think so. However writing something to auto target, fire, auto target fire, and so on would be against the EULA, but just triggering all your guns, I think you're ok. -- Lil Miner Newbie Skills Roadmap | Visual Building Guide (Both work in game too!) |

If you are useing the macro capability that came with a keyboard, like the Logitech G15, then yes. It's a vry handy tool. If you are useing some other piece of software, I dunno...

Yeah, I expect an f1-f8 macro would be allowed, and even if it wasn't, it would be undetectable

I've found those 8 fingers attached to those 2 hands that came with your body an excellent tool for this job.

On very carefuly Inspection, this section of the EULA, actually allows Macros. Thats my understanding of the english here.
"at an accelerated rate when compared with ordinary Game play"
Say I go minning, and I farm normally with no macros, and I come back with say 200k ISK per hour. If my Macro repeats the very same set of actions to allow me to earn 200k per hour and run it for 12 hrs, I am not at an accelerated rate when compared with Ordinary Game play. That is technically all right from what I am reading.
I would love to hear if someone else though differently.

it would be at an accelerated rate if you did not normally mine for 12 hrs straight.
