i was looking at the dev blog talking about the new industrial so it got me thinking about compression
since a long time ago the best way to transport thing was to produce something then bring it to the place it need to use the then refine it and prod what they need.... let's look at a other way to do the same with a twist:
what if we could compressed the mineral themselves like we do for the unprocessed Ore,
the difference between the 2 compression is this : ore is by amount of ore and the mineral is by density of the material the more common the mineral the lighter the density higher the amount /compressed cube the harder the mineral the heavier the density the lesser the amount /compressed cube
that should make a lot easier to transport the mineral and can be done by the same way the ore compression is done ... or we could use 2 new way 1) Station service for mineral compression (at a cost ... to be discuss if need be) 2) new Pos module for mineral/ore Compression
Constructive critic are welcome

They just put a lot of effort into removing mineral compression in favour of ore compression, what makes you think they'll put mineral compression back in so soon? |

Because the "mineral compression " your talking about is by the use of producing a module multiple time then recycling them at the destination so it not really a mineral compression but a recycling good for other prod...
What I was proposing is a real mineral compression it's the same as ore compression but instead of ore it's mineral |

taking minerals and making them smaller. One form used modules, yours uses more direct method. |

What I was proposing is a real mineral compression it's the same as ore compression but instead of ore it's mineral Yes, there should be some sort of mineral compression, something like ingots. Ingots of trit, mex, whatever. CCP on the other hand chooses to compress ore, which, even though eve is just a game, ore has a huge amount of "overburden". Only an idiot in real life would choose to compress worthless overburden. CCP devs are lucky though, it's just a game. Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. ingot is the perfect term for this form of mineral compression that as no impurity ( other mineral in the mix) and could even be use directly without the need to uncompressed if the need is equalled to the content of less the remaing mineral goes back as non-compress mineral in the owner hangar

I made this suggestion a year or two ago, CCP ignored it of course. :) Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.-á-á- William Pitt |

My preference would of been to turn those now defunct compression blueprints into refining blueprints (which could be researched for higher efficiency).
Refined Minerals are pretty compact, I don't see why we need voodoo science compression for the unrefined product.
It's not like you could produce fighters in space aboard carriers and have transports or tankers with fighter bays.
Oh wait, that was VGA Planets..... l8r \o/ |
