Hello,
Which Amarr ship would be a good counter against Republic Fleet Stabbers in Lv. 2 missions? (Fighting 2 of them at once for some missions) I always have trouble trying to take them down with a maller as I could never catch up. Using 1600mm plate + frig guns configuration is too slow, and using med lasers + radio M crystal takes too long and have to warp out many times.
Will an Omen fare better?
Thanks.

When I was doing lvl 2 missions I gave up trying to kill them with a cruiser, I used the fast Executioner frigate (after clearing out the other ships with a cruiser) and orbitted them at close range. They can't hit you when you're that close. Of course it's tricky getting that close sometimes, and two of them is just a pain.

Wouldn't their missiles shoot you down before you reach them?

Thats why its a pain.
The best thing to do is keep you speed up. If you can try and draw them in to the point where you warp in before you bail out. That way you wont have so much travelling to do next time.
Also take note of the missiles they are throwing at you and concider increasing your resistance to the damage those missiles do.

For level 2's I use an Arbitrator. While it can't catch the Stabber, the drone bay has more then enough room to field medium scout drones which can easily take out the Stabbers. All level 2's I use the Arbitrator for since it is a very nice drone cruiser for the Amarr.

I'd change your crystals, maybe to infared or microwave, not as much range, but more damage

Ahh, good idea; can't believe I hadn't thought of that. That means I have to train for drones though... I take it that the Omen is too slow for the stabbers as well?

Edited by: Thralkar on 17/06/2006 21:35:15 It isn't that they are too slow. The Stabbers will try to hang around 30k from you and not get closer or further away. When I do not feel like using drones, I switch to either another Cruiser or my Battlecruiser (Prohpecy) and use Medium Beam Turrets (Heavy Anode Particle Stream I's) and equip Infrared Crystals to give me a 31k-33k optimum. I just find it alot easier to use the Arbitrator with the Drones handling things and I use an Assault Launcher and 2 Small Turrets to take on the frigates. Regardless of what you do, you should be working on training Drones as they are very worthwhile to use in order to do things. However being that you are Amarr, I would definately use the Arbitrator to the fullest extent. At first I passed it up for a Maller and was doing level 2's in it, then after training Drones up a bit for use in my Prophecy, I decided to give the Arbitrator a whirl. Oh boy was I happy with that choice. Since then I only run level 2's in the Arbitrator, have never had any trouble with any of them and use my Prophecy for doing level 3's (switch to doing level 2's only when a special mission comes up in level 3's).
