To be fair, you'd said it had been a "long time" since you'd been in the ship, and alluded to numerous patches having happened since then.
Geckos are about six weeks old, since which there's been one major patch, so guessing that you were using geckos didn't really fit what you told us. |

Just to clarify ...
Aside from two cases - Gecko's and T2 sentries WITHOUT Racial Spec trained to V - both of which lost DPS, the DPS of everything T1 should have gone up and non-sentry T2 stayed pretty much the same.
EDIT:
The other big exception, light and medium drones on the Ratlesnake. |

No that's correct. If you want to fully preserve your old dps you probably need the new faction drone damage amps. None have dropped for me, so my dps is down right now.

Anyway, i think it's going to come down the the specific drones used. The patch notes say dps goes down due to the bonus from the Drone Interfacing skill, but the loss will be covered by increasing the base damage of most drones. I can only imagine i'm using drones (not sentry) that have not recieved the dps increase, and so i get much lower dps cus i'v lost half my DI bonus..
I've noted over the years, as you are now aware, that the bulk of posts on the General forum are focused more on broadcasting the poster's assumed level of "cleverness" at the expense of actual information content.
It is more important for the poster to be clever, than it is for them to be helpful.

hmm ... still see no reason for using wardens or curators. Garde remain best damage up close and Bouncers due to the great falloff work well with the new omni that mainly improves falloff. |

Those are my tools of choice as well, though if that's common it may be the reason for the comparative nerf.

If they want people to use wardens or curators they need to give them useful features. Give Curators crazy good tracking for example or Wardens 20% more HP might work.
Otherwise people are just going to stick with Garde and Bouncers for everything. |

However, that wouldn't explain a 25% drop in DPS.
Thanks man, appreciate it. The ship in question went from 1011 dps to 772 so it's more like 23% or something. It only does drone dps and has exactly the same drones in it as it had before.
Train up the drone racial skills. They are needed more now than before because they affect all the drones now as far as I know. |

Hot tip: People who aren't smart enough to find the patch notes on their own don't get to be condescending.
What you should have done:

Instead, you opted to showcase your ineptitude on a public forum, thereby inviting much deserved ridicule. "Help, I'm bored with missions!"

Drones were balanced in the Kronos expansion.
Pre-Kronos, only two racial drones were used much at all: Gallente, and Minmatar.
CCP decided that they wanted to make all racial Drones a viable choice and balanced them. The idea behind the balances can be outlined in this post: http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/giving-drones-an-assist/
The basic idea for non-sentry drones is you get more damage as you get less speed, and you get more speed as you get less damage.
The basic idea for sentry drones is you get more damage as you get less optimal/falloff, and you get more optimal/falloff as you get less damage.
To achieve this balance the two previously leftout racial drones (Amarr and Caldari) got their damage increased a bit.
To achieve this balance the two previously used racial drones (Gallente and Minmatar) got their damage decreased a bit.
Now you have an option to choose between speed and damage or distance and damage. Furthermore, you are no longer limited to only two damage types with drones, you are now free to select your damage type and have a viable drone available to you, but you may need some training to get it up to par. |

They get likes because they make people chuckle a tad with their silly and often useless banter. It was a chuckle filled thread for me as it read like one of my 2 y/o daughters books, 'We are in a book". |

Curators should theoretically be good against EM-weak rats, but CCP in their infinite wisdom nerfed their falloff so much that you're often better off using bouncers or wardens. |
