...are concentrated in specific regions?
I know they can be found in most regions but I've noticed they regularly spawn in specific systems/constellations. Is this intentional? Is it tied to lore in some way?
The reason I ask is that high density of sites in particular regions leads to overcrowding. New Eden is a big place and there are some areas where sites rarely, if at all, spawn - the wildlands, drone regions and so on.
There are a couple of system clusters where they seem to spawn every couple of hours or so - npc pirate regions. Problem is they are pretty much protected by pirate corps (usually Russian and Polish I notice).
One other thing - I've also noticed that one of the pirate regions spawns quarries at a mighty rate. These often have 50-100mill inside them. whereas in other regions you never see a quarry for the light of day.
questions questions....
If it's not intentional is there going to be a review of how and where they spawn in the future? To spread them out a bit? |

Adding to what I've said...is it possible for any of you data experts to pull data on this - like the eve maps showing where relics/data sites spawn on a regular basis? |

This sounds like quite a bit of tin foil to me. If there's more sites in specific regions, my assumption is that fewer people are running them in those regions. Do you have documentation? What's your sample size?
Is there a reason for these things happening too:
- Faction rats spawn only when systems are empty, so it's good to keep highly upgraded systems empty to farm faction mods.
- Clone rats (to drop sec status tags) usually spawn in the top belt.
- The AI is biased to switch to shooting ships stuck in asteroids.
- 37% of characters you meet are alts.
- The less damage you do past the killing point against a ship (the less you overkill it), the more/better loot drops.
???
I suspect it's related to relic/data sites being concentrated in particular regions. Accidentally The Whole Frigate (blog) - Learning how to pew pew, one loss at a time - www.thewholefrigate.com |

No need for the hate guys, was just stating what I have observed and was asking a genuine question.
I'm divining from what one of you has said that the more sites are run in a particular area the more they will respawn? is that right? So sites aren't tied to the whole of New Eden but to regions?
I suppose that makes sense with them being faction-specific.
So if I was to relic/data hunt the whole of the drone regions on a regular basis more would spawn? |

That's because the spawn rate is tied to pilot activity in the system. Fly to busier system and youll find exploration site. At least this is how it was.. they maybe have upped the gas site spawning for testing purposes earlier.
