I am having problems running the stuff I want to on my ship. I have an imicus and I have 2 mining laser II on it, but I use one and have to wait before I can activate the other.
Is there a way to increase the capacitor size or recharging rate on my ship?

The Energy Management skill increases your cap by 5% per level and Energy Systems Operation reduces the recharge time. ___

And you can also use Capacitor Rechargers in your midslots

Capacitor batteries will be better. A 50% increase in capacitor will make your capacitor regenerate 50% more each second, AND makes you able to activate more modules right away without waiting for the recharge.

The Navitas is a MUCH better mining frigate, as it will make your miner II's mine more ore and use much less capacitor. You should buy one asap if you plan to do a lot of mining. However, for combat and whatnot, it's not as good as an Incursus or a Tristan.

Let me offer you some advice, and by advice I mean scathing criticism. |

I hate telling beginners that they have bought the wrong ship, thats kind of a downer way to start out.
I do always like a battery on an Imicus. It is true that it is not as good a pure mining frigate as a Navitas. It is nice for having the biggest cargo space though, good for trading or couriering or fetching stuff and you can mine with it if you want to.
But it has way too little cap and it needs a battery or you will go crazy with running out of cap every time you warp across a system.

The Navitas is a better miner than the Imincus? What about the larger bay on the imicus? It can hold more.
Trying to understand better.

Look at the ship descriptions and read the bonuses for each ship. Every ship has something that it will get a bonus in for every level of the corresponding ship class that you train - ie Gallente frigates for a...Gallente frigate like Navitas or Imicus. The Navitas gets a juicy bonus, the more you raise your frigate level the better your mining yield.
20% per level means you double your mining once you get to level 5 which you will someday.

Oh and you wont be mining into your cargo, you'll be using a hauler with a huge cargo to lug your rocks home. So the cargo bay will eventually not be your big concern on a mining ship.

yes, one day you'll use a dedicated mining ship to mine a whole bunch of ore into cans, then grab an industrial to empty your cans and haul it to station
but you've probably got some training to get there so for now you just use one ship
and if you're planning on mining, there's maybe no reason not to join a corp right now, you'd get help on this stuff, probably find somebody who already hauls and get some synergy going
corps always want eager miners
