I'm a 6-week old noob, who did a couple of dozen lvl 2 missions in a Thorax with no problems. Then did the Human Cattle missions...1 through 4 were no problem. The first 3 or 4 battles of Human Cattle 5 of 5 was no problem.
Then came what was probably the last battle. I had to AB for 120km to get to a group of 30 or so bad guys. But they targeted me and starting firing when I was about 40km out. All of them at once started pounding me. After a few seconds of this I decided to warp out and re-group. But it was too late. From the point they saw me to Thorax destruction must have been about 15 seconds. It was all over.
So how do you guys do that last part of that 5 of 5 mission? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks. |

Ah, the infamous last part of Human Cattle, catches so many rookies. Warp in, kill the frigate next to you, missions done, go get paid. Leave getting killed by the massive battleship fleet for someone else. ~ |

Arghh! I was afraid of that ...I feel like such a noob!
By the way, I had platinum insurance, but replacing my ship and outfitting it is much more than I was reimbursed...does it make a difference if you insure you ship unfitted vs. fully fitted? |

Nope. You only insure the ship. You should get slightly above mineral price atm if you get highest insurance.

Yeah, I almost did the same thing you did, in the very same ship. Lucky for me I rememberd that my agent told me to "recon" to deadspace, and the rest of the killing can be explained away as self-defense, but that last bit.....
Yeah, I hightailed it back to the base, told my agent I was done, and if she said no.....screw her.

We tried it out in a bunch of disposable frigates a few months back. I lasted 3 seconds or so, my corpmates were all in pods inside 10 seconds. We killed 2 frigates

My corpmate wanted to see how well his interceptor could dodge fire (owing to the tiny sig radius). He actually managed to warp out with half shields, being hit by only one volley.
Methinks that unless you fit an equal or larger number of BSes in there, you're probably not going to do well.
