With Eve being so huge, you would think there is a faster way of travelling in this game. I mean if I have to travel between Essence and Lonetrek on a regular basis, could I not say take a ride on interbus and be there instance? granted I should get some load time with this.

OP: What you need is a jump clone installed in Lonetrek, along with a spare ship, or collection of ships, for whatever you need to do there. Then you can instajump to the Lonetrek station, potter about, and instajump back to Essence when you're done.
The only limiting factor is, you can't instajump more than once every 24 hours.

If you don't have any implants, you can just install your clone at a remote station, then self-destruct your pod. Works as well as a jump clone (assuming you have low sp and cheap clone upgrades) with none of those 24 hr delays. Just make sure you upgrade your clone before self-destructing, or you might forget a few skills.

get in a capship & get a few friends to put up some cyanos along your travel route around empire (limited to 0.4 and below).

Fly an interceptor with an MWD, use instas or, if you don't have the SPs or ISK, a shuttle. Along with the other suggestions to self destruct your pod too. 
Thought that was 0.3 and below, Auron?
