Ok, this is a pretty simple graphics idea that I think people might like, since most of us can agree on the fact that some of the active module graphics need an update. These ideas would add to immersion, and make it a bit more
-Warp Disruptor: pale green beam with an evergreen aura; not very bright, but definitely more visible than the current one. Contact on pointed ship has a lensing effect around the back of the ship where the warp engines are. It should make a quiet, high-pitched humming sound, sort of like the sound a few bees make in a bush, with a low thumping sound.
-Warp Scrambler: Same basic graphic as the disruptor, but an indigo color with a royal blue aura around the beam. Buzzing sound is louder and lower-pitched.
-ECM: When a successful jam pops off, some light static appears on the player's screen; you can still see everything, but the gist would be that it would look like you're getting hacked...which you are.
-Sensor Damps: Screen perimeter pulses dark like you're about to pass out IRL, and the color drains form the screen somewhat. You hear the sound of your sensors straining and protesting, which sounds like a short mechanical whining and coughing sound, which subsides (don't want to have too many sounds going on).
-Target Painter: Current idea is fine as is, but I would like to see them integrate it with the shield graphics they're coming out with down the road a bit. A graphical update for the TP laser itself would be nice in the interrim.
-Tracking Disruptor: You get a distortion graphic around your guns, and a momentary sound of ball bearings grinding.
-Stasis Webifier: an actual, ovoid bubble around the ship that's being webbed, with greenish lines running through it like you do with the deployable warp bubbles, except straight and slower.

There are icons in the bottom saying what your ebing effected with and by who.
Adding seizure trips adn spinning doodads all over the screen just creates clutter. |

Adding seizure trips adn spinning doodads all over the screen just creates clutter. But...but...shiny cool next-gen graphics! Think of all the pretty colors!
Also, they already have an option to turn off effects. This could be lumped in there if you didn't want the clutter. |

It ust seems awfully cartoony, and as some of them you said would make the screen fuzzy or actively interfere with what you could SEE, they would be effects a majority of players would have turned off anyways, making their development time with the art department a near-wasted effort. not to mention, again, it would look a little cartoony. |
