Goodbye to you, my hated friend We've known each other since 2010 Together we've fought for bleak lands Waged war without wearing pants It's been a borderline romance
Goodbye my friend, it's hard to die When all the systems seem to fall your side If all is said and all is done I will remember all the fun You were the heroes, you were the scum
We had joy, we had fun We sometimes bailed to sun But the fights, let's all agree Were the best of you and me I like it best when the beats are naked. |

So, it appears everything is out in the open. Yes, we just lost some of our key people. That said, the rest of the A-VNG crew will still be out GÇ£fighting the good fightGÇ¥.
I am both surprised and gladdened at the number of respectful comments that followed RahelisGÇÖs post. It is good to see some people still get that this is all a game that we as a whole are playing to have fun. I am sure some of you get how your own enjoyment of FW, and to a degree EVE as a whole, will be hurt by having fewer dedicated opponents. It is hard to measure your mettle when there is less to stand up against.

Gf to all!
Whether it was involved in the war in local, this forum, KBs, or in system...it was a hell of a time...oh well! There's still a war going on, plenty of systems to fight for! See you guys soon....I think we can all be proud of being the center of EVE's attention for a couple weeks.
Besides, I'm sure we're going to be trying to defend Roushzar soon and I have a Jump Clone set up now in Cal/Gall, looking forward to seeing fights there too lol. |

Well fought Amarrians. Given the amount of ships destroyed over the campaign combined with the fact that both sides combined totaled less than a few hundred people, the Burn Huola campaign was perhaps one of the fiercest battles in the history of EVE. It certainly deserves a place in EVE's lore.
CTRL-Q now has hangers upon hangers of combat ships ready to deploy. We will not let them go to waste. |

One idea connected to the thread.
This is the first major FW system seige since the patches that have hurt farmers. It would be very interesting if some clever people did the statistics on the conflict, if this campaign has been as epic as we suspect we could petition CCP to put a monument in Huola. All FW militias were represented, all militias had achievements to be proud of (inclufing pirate low sec forces, militia allied or third party) Faction Warfare would not hurt to have a publicity boost, if the numbers are impressive this could be FW's version of BR..
Any thoughts? The Huola campaign would serve as a nice contrast to stalemated coalition Null Sec... |

Any thoughts? The Huola campaign would serve as a nice contrast to stalemated coalition Null Sec... There have been many huge and lengthy battles in eve history. While I'm sure many boats were violenced, I'm not so sure it was really so many as to stand out. Anyway, the monument thing is possibly being overdone.
As for stalemated, the current FW system occupancies have been rather so. Definitely better than the regular, rapid, and wide swings of the former pendulum, but a little more swing back in the direction of a little more swing would be better for game play. This may come about since the dps (but not the tanks) of the rats was just toned down with Crius. We shall see (saw?). CCP, there are off buttons for ship explosions, missile effects, turret effects, etc. "Immersion" does not seem to be harmed by those. So, please give us a persisting-áoff button for the jump gate and autoscan visuals. |

All smack aside.
Iron Oxide was always the Yin to our Yang. No other minmatar corporation could go tow to toe with Amarrian Vengeance aside from Iron Oxide.
So for what it's worth; GF IO.
While the feeling of distaste for some of it's members splurge in local is mutual, FW wouldn't be FW without a healthy dose of smack.
They have most of the veterans and both doctrines are similar.
EVE would never have been a challenge for AVNG without you.

Very few people outside of FW know this is even going on. To a lot of the big null sec alliances its just afew t1 frigs flying small gang in low sec. I wrote to afew eve news sites and they never got back to me.. |

i'll never understand why people dislike local smack so much. it raises the stakes of losing and makes the other guy seem like more than a random dude 1000 miles away. what else are two "enemies" going to talk about in local? puppy dogs and rainbows?

Iron Oxide remain at Defcon 1 and will do for some time. FWeddit and WINMATAR have yet to officially stand down and there's always a chance this is the most complex ruse in history.
This time last night there was still heavy fighting in Huola. Things are quiet now but I'll believe they aren't coming back when Summer is over and no sooner. |

Lori - you really fear AVNG. This alone shows what AVNG achieved in the warzone.
I assure you that I am not doing propaganda - but who knows for sure?
On smack talk - it is good fun to work your enemy into submission - but there are limits that smack talk should no cross (racism and sexist stuff) - despite having CCP forcing rules on smack talk.
Commando operations have a role in military ops, they are the first in and last out, but in attrition war numbers are the weapon that kills.
On the other hand infiltation was the weapon derived in the frist world war that broke trench warfare . . . |
