So I just got my first Battleship the other day and when I started doing lvl 4 missions I realized very quickly that I wasnt doing very well. A friend who was helping me said that I probably just dont have very good skills since I was using Reactor Control unites and a Co-Processor. So excluding Ship skills and skills for specific weapon types, what are some general skills that would be useful to train up for someone in a Battleship doing lvl 4 missions working his way up towards Incursions? |

Most useful skill for Eve is a skill of reading because all answers to this kind of questions are already written all over internet. Hint: core, fitting and support skills. I am not my skills but... http://eveboard.com/pilot/Schmata_Bastanold |

all fitting skills that increase base amount on ship all skills that lower fitting requirements on weapons all skills that increase cap amount and recharge all damage skills for weapon type.
Also posting that fit you where using would help a lot also. aka where you trying to run active armor and buff tank at same time issues. |

'Not doing very well' in what?
We they handing you your ass or was it just taking you an eternity to melt NPCs?
The biggest pain with missions is the inability to create optimal ground without an Orca full of junk behind you. One mission will have mostly cruisers that tank 2 damage and do two more. The next will have more battleships that tank two other damages and deal two more.
You need to know every mission and have fits for them to be doing optimal in them. Add to that, yes you need the basic skills for what you are fitting.
You really need to look at your situation, run a bunch of 3's, then 4's and ask yourself what you should be doing. I still run 3's just because they remove so much of the headache I CBA to deal with all the time in a game. |

So to be a little more descriptive. You need to pick either armor or shields. It's generally not a good idea to double tank. You should start on these very specific skills ASAP:
Under Engineering: - Advanced Weapon Upgrades (Guns take less PG) - Weapon Upgrades (Guns take less CPU)
- Capacitor management (more cap) - Capacitor Systems Operations (better cap regen)
- CPU management (more CPU) - Power Grid management (more PG)
Aside from that, an EVEboard link would really help. |
