Katamuger, Heimatar [THARS] -- A Large Minmatar Player Owned Structure and surrounding structures was pronounced "Mildly Crispy with a hint of Minmatar" today by Tharsis Officers after incompetent [EIBI] management failed to transfer fuel from reserves to the control-tower, resulting in the destruction and looting of hundreds of millions worth of property.
Kitty O'Shay a senior Tharsis Security Officer was commanding a routine scouting party through the Heimatar constellation of Benurad when a Player Owned Structure belonging to EvE Intergalactic Bank Investments was noted to undefended, open to attack from anybody.
Tharsis Security jumped upon the opportunity, EvE Intergalactic Bank Investments was noted for harboring several piracy corporations hostile to [THARS] within their Player Owned Structures and involved in the destruction of several [THARS] ships, a plan for retribution was quickly set in motion. All of five pilots were scrambled for a routine "cleanup job."
A small force of two cruisers, a battleship, a hauler, and one frigate set on to pick apart the [EIBI] Player Owned Structure with relentless efficiency. Notable assets destroyed were two Mobile Labs, unknown at the moment if any valuable assets were actually inside.
Tharsis Security Armageddon Attacking [EIBI] POS
A Tharsis Member was reported to say "*Haha* ******* POS fuel," when several corporate hangar arrays were pried open with combined firepower, in fact over 75,000,000 ISK worth of POS Fuel was reported to be relocated by a Tharsis Security Hauler working non-stop during the siege.
Other valuable assets in this inactive death star of a POS included :
9 x Shield Hardeners 2 x Warp Disruption Batteries 1 x Component Assembly Array 2 x Large Artillery Batteries 4 x Large Autocannon Batteries 3 x Medium Autocannon Batteries 1 x Medium Artillery Battery 2 x Small Autocannon Batteries
In total the assets destroyed was in the area of 492,300,300.00 ISK
The Tower itself however was left standing by Tharsis Forces, official comments included the like of "Oh ****, 45,000,000 Shield HP, we can't be arsed," unofficial comments were heard that the patience implants were set to "We want to kill, Dammit!"
Lessons unlearned state some speculators, this isn't the first loss in the hundreds of millions caused by Tharsis Security against [EIBI], and with their direction, it may not be the last.

Sergeant O'Shay did an excellent job spotting this starbase and leading the team in its destruction.
On behalf of Tharsis Security, I thank her and those who participated in this operation, excellent work.

Silly mistake sure, and one that shouldnt have happened. However, I am sure that the EIB would see this as a very minor issue in the grand scheme of things, and when seeing the kinds of funds/assets they actually have.

it happened due to some errors beyond the EIBI influence.
But, to be honest, it's not that great that you found a POS offline in space, we don't brag every few days we find an RA one Shinnen ------------------ I support macros, and make drugs legal in gallente space

The difference between RA and EIBI is that RA is not a publicly traded company on the stock market, or funded by stockholders - when they fail to defend a POS, they are wasting their own money, not their investors.
We merely wish to let those who put their faith in this corporation that they just lost half a billion worth of assets, perhaps even more if there was a blueprint original inside the mobile labs.

I'm not having a go, I just wish people to know that this loss was by no means a great loss, share holders needn't worry.
I can tell you, as an investor and close friend of the brains behind EIBI that this by no means is a great loss.

This will be investigated. How you found a simply offline POS stands to be a mystery.
But i assure you, returning those items would be in your best interest. Money talks.

Edited by: Sakura Nihil on 01/07/2006 07:02:36 Items which were won through our perceptive pilots' efforts will not be returned - as Shinnen says, EIBI is a large firm, this is no great loss to you, is it not ?
Consider it a "finder's fee" of sorts.

An unfortunate incident this has been.
However suggesting this is due to the incompetence of EIBI management is a major oversight on the part of Tharis Security.
The POS in question was not property of the EIBI and thus our management had no part in its maintenance, and furthermore has nothing to do with public investment in the EIBI.
The POS was the property of a member of staff wishing to expand his earnings by exploring other avenues of income not previously available to him.
Since the EIBI welcomes its members attempts to better themselves or to expand their earning potential they were allowed to run this POS under the banner of the EIBI.
