Edited by: Javoni Vaylun on 06/07/2006 17:25:12 Well here's my crappy laptop: Celeron CPU: 2.60 GHz, 768 MB of RAM and Intel Extreme Graphics with 64 MB.
As a gamer, I know the bare minimum about computers. I bought this laptop for college, thinking that I wouldn't have time for playing games. I should have invested in the next level of Inspirons, because I think they have upgradable graphic cards. I just had to be a cheap sake.
Anyway, I'd like to know if it'll be worth paying for a subscription here. So far, I get a little bit of lag when I open up certain menus or when I fly into space occupied with a lot of other ships. But, its not terrible. Also, I'm playing with all settings in their lowest positions.
I've been playing for about a week, so I haven't had to much trouble. But then again, I haven't been involved in every part of the game. I was just curious to know if anyone else out there is in the same boat as I am and is still having fun.
Thanks!

If it wasn't for this, you'd be just great.
Unfortunately, Intel Extreme Graphics is extremely slow. You could go back to the late '90s and find a faster card. If it was a desktop, you could multiply your graphics speed by 5 for the price of a meal at Subway.
However, EVE in its current incarnation isn't really that graphically demanding. So you're probably fine. However, don't expect great performance, especially in complexes/deadspaces and any large battle.

That's a pretty good laptop. Hrm, can I borrow about $6000 USD? Pretty please? I can resist everything but temptation. |

sorry to say this but the first time you enter a fleet battle or get a mission with quite a few drones or ships, your game is either gunna crash, or totally lock up. but.. by all means... give it a shot.. free trial account. Don't hate the playa, hate the game... |

My '3isk in the can' is yes
If you pass the 14days trial and really but really like the game then keep going for the first two, three months for its mainly to learn the game and get your skill up and running doing small fight & look around style. Once pass that its a choice between "nah this is not my type of game" to "yea jesus ! should have been on this long time ago".
