So, CCP made some changes to the industrial processes in EVE.
Among them is the change to reprocessing modules, ships, ammo, deployables, etc..
Player owned Minmatar outposts with "Minmatar Advanced Outpost Refinery Platform" were given an advantage over high sec stations. The former receiving 60% reprocessing and the later receiving 55%.
This gives a small advantage to those who own such outposts (not much of one, but it's something).
So, I thought I might make a small goal for myself of actually making the "Minmatar Advanced Outpost Refinery Platform" so as to install on a certain player owned outpost (I don't own it, but I'm sure the owners would accept the free gift).
So I went about trying to find the blueprint for this platform and unfortunately it doesn't seem to exist. However, I did notice that their are NPC sell orders for the platform available for 3.6 billion isk.
I don't mind getting the isk so as to purchase the platform, but I just didn't see that as being in the industrial spirit.
I'd figure with the industrial theme of this expansion such an item would be possible to construct by the player's own hands.
The material requirements already exist in-game so why doesn't the blueprint? I though CCP wanted to eventually transfer most NPC functions over to the players?
I see this as a little short sighted considering the theme of this expansion and the (slight) advantage this particular item gives over NPC controlled outposts.

I don't see the harm in seeding the blueprint, assuming the material cost is similar to the current npc cost. However, I don't see the blueprint's existence as related to Crius. |

Hmm... well that's odd...
There are blueprints for eggs, but not for upgrades.
Maybe they should add a blueprint. o.0 |

1. Previously CCP has stated they want to give players more control over things that NPC's were in charge of previously.
2. Cruis is industrially themed.
3. CCP wanted to be able to give nullsec residents more incentive to perform industry in nullsec and give advantages over highsec industry.
4. One of those advantages was a better reprocessing rate with player owned outposts.
5. To gain this advantage requires equipping the Advanced Outpost Refinery Platform for the given outpost type (faction).
6. It is not possible to build this outpost component as the blueprint does not exist.
7. In order to gain this outpost component you must give isk to a certain NPC and it just *poofs* into existence no construction required.
Who knows, maybe they just forgot to put the blueprint in the game.
And hell, why stop with this particular outpost component... seed them all!
While they are it they should go through all of the rest of NPC supplied items and see whether or not it makes sense for players to be in charge of it instead.

Agreed, there should be a BPO for every item in the game for players to produce. How one acquires theat BPO is another topic in and of itself though. |

Actually, if I remember correctly (it was a long time ago), I think they were mentioning something about wanting players to use freighters to haul stuff from empire to null in order to promote "emergent gameplay"... or something like that.
I'm not sure whether it was about station upgrade platforms or something else. o.0 |
