my idea of a ISK sink:
we need items that disappear after use and that are more "mandatory" to be used by players, i hate the idea of potions and alike, but if this items were make good enough to make sure they are used it would be a good way to deal with the huge amounts of floating ISK around, my suggestions go something like this:
Emergency Nanite armor = add X % amount of armor repair.
Emergency shield boosters= same as above but with shields.
Special coolant:increase in ROF for all weapons and increase in capacitor usage.
Armor and shield batteries = special charges that allow the shield and armor boosters to work without capacitor (specialized cap boosters if you want to call it that way).
Afterburner Catalyst = increase afterburner efficiency.
so all this items would be equipped on the respective module (armor repper, shield booster, gyrostabilizer, heatsink etc etc) and used on each cycle, as long they are being used the module works at much better efficiencie.
they can be made Size dependent (s,m,l,XL,capital) or make it be consumed more if the module is bigger (say a x large booster uses 10 shield booster charges while a small one uses 1
this items would NEVER drop from NPCs, would be manufactured with common items, minerals would be nice to reduce the mineral stocks and increase mineral costs.
they should be moderately easy to produce and NOT be limited to any region, as to make them avaiable to anyone. and their effectiveness should be pretty high (up to 30% MAX), this way they would be widely used and their price would be relatively high but worth it.
Comments? and sorry for my horrible english... |

Great,so my dread needs to be unnerfed and given the capacity of a jump freighter to hold all the nanite armor goo needed for its capital reps while in siege. |

i love dreadnoughts personally i wish they were more effective at dealing with battleship size ships so:
who says this consumables would be so big?
we could make them such that 50 units use 1 cubic meter?
so on this volume a normal battleship module would consume 1 M3 each 5 cycles,
a capital ship 2 m3 each cycle given longer cycles is not so bad you could use 200 cubic meters for 200 cycles of lets say your capital shield booster or 100 shoots of your big guns.

1) It's not an isk sink 2) You have no idea what is an isk sink, obviously 3) And you should google "eve online combat booster".
I give you a 2/10. |

combat boosters are applied to the pilot not to the ship. what i m suggesting would be used as an additional ammo for the modules, so don't try to be a smartass when you didn't even take time to read.
and this works as an ISK sink since is a way to spend ISK and make it dissapear instead of just transforming it into something else. |

No, also, go die in a fire.
This is a terrible idea.
I'm going to bring my battle badger to a fight, and just rep it indefinitely using your armor goo. I win. |

this wouldn't happen, this goes onto a module, isn't working just by using it, what are you going to fit? a medium booster and boost with your tanked badger? 80 dps?
badges die most of time on the first shoot so it really dosn't matters. if what you say was true, why not fit a badger iwth cap boosters and a shield booster? wouldn't it be the same given their huge cargohold? |

When people produce these items, the ISK will simply go to the producers and not simply VANISH.
Please clarify what you are talking about, because right now, with your words, it's not an ISK sink. |

Wrong Forum.
May I also add this is an item sink not isk sink.

my bad after rereading yeah you are right, as the other one posted this is an item sink, at least i guess could help with eating minerals away... still i believe is a good idea feature wise. |

They're called boosters m8, and they've been in the game for years. Maybe more new types of boosters with different effects wouldn't be a bad thing, but what you're asking for has been in the game for at least 4 years. |

again, boosters affect the character, i m talking about a SORT OF AMMO that would go into the modules related with them, shield boosters, armor repairers, DPS modules.
god damn some people shouldn't post if they won't read anything. |

they are reading.....the booster descriptions. Since boosters to you are per ship and not per mod blue pill should work for any shield tanked ship. When you get a chance read the info for blue pill....then tell us why its not the best idea to drop this before hopping in your passive drake. HInt: passive in this case means no active shield booster on the ship.
Between implants, boosters, and a healthy train for thermodynamics, all that you ask is in game already. Boosters are isk sinks. + time sinks, they require lots of extra trains to work well. Impants are isk sinks since lost when pod goes boom. And time sinks if you want to run omegas from a set. Thermodynamics is free....jsut a time sink since if you want to cook your mods alot may as well 5 it.
Even better if this is not enough....run DS gear. YOur fuel effieicnt AB has many names. Me I like gist series AB's if cheap enough (frigs 1 nm are anyway usually). Speed boost, less activation energy.
Lets leave lend lease oil where it belongs....in WOT. |

It is an interesting suggestion. I could see introducing cap boosters to a new armor repper/shield booster that can run on either charges or cap or both, thus reducing the drain on the capacitor. The damage repaired is reduced as well so there will be an advantage to running off capacitor only modules. Fitting for the rep mods with charges will obviously be higher to balance them.
The rest of the things are no go in my opinion. |
