Hey guys i'm currently at a station in Clellinon and I'm always finding myself traveling further away to get ores and its a longer time to get back and empy it. Can anyone tell me a good location that is safe and will have a station close to ores? |

If said system is full of people mining, it wont be much good.
There is no easy answer, you need to be far away from everyone else and have a system full or ore. (This is usually accomplished by moving as far from major trade hubs as possible.)
Anyone who has found said spot would be foolish to give it away, so unfortunately this is something you need to hunt for yourself.

Clellinon is a rookie system, really somewhere you should only live for your first few hours of active playing (which might be a week or two). Most fun stuff in EVE is either not available there, or outright disallowed (such as attacking players, under most circumstances).
Verge Vendor in general is a very quiet region. Few people live there, most just pass through. I'd recommend looking for somewhere busier.
I personally live in Dodixie. It's the third busiest trade hub in the game (so you can buy or sell anything except capital ships and the rarer limited edition items there), it is right near a few good lowsec systems (for when you feel like hunting people that are expecting you) and many miners (for when you feel like hunting someone that isn't expecting you).
I would recommend you look into the system Ney. It's close to Dodixie (6j IIRC), is next door to a very quiet lowsec system (Fasse) where you can shoot NPCs (if that's your thing) or mine the recently-buffed lowsec ores (if that's your thing). It also has its own resident miners who you can shoot at (if that's your thing). https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=346564 - a proposal to overhaul the Logistics skill https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. www.minerbumping.com - ganking miners and causing chaos |

Belts in 0.8 space and higher are usually picked clean pretty fast. I'd recommend training up mining barges, then finding a good 0.5 or 0.6 system - you'll probably need to have a barge to tank the rats, although you might be able to speed tank with a Venture. Of course, you don't have to keep your ore where the rest of your stuff is. Refine it down to minerals and you can haul it in a Kryos to the nearest market hub.
If you're going to join a corp, now might be a good time - usually you'll want to keep all of your belongings where your corp is. |

Ventures can speed tank pretty much anything (EVE talk for 'be too small to effectively hit while moving', just like how IRL you can never kill a moving fly with a baseball bat despite the baseball bat being a very deadly weapon in other situations).
The few things you can't speed tank are mostly hostile players in short to medium range ships, and NPC frigates and destroyers. Conveniently, the NPCs are easily killed with drones. The hostile players require you to be dilligent and watch for anything suspicious - mostly the ships that are going to pose a threat to a Venture are Catalysts, Thrashers and Atrons. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=346564 - a proposal to overhaul the Logistics skill https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. www.minerbumping.com - ganking miners and causing chaos |

You sound like an industrialist or a miner? So you'd probably want to be fairly close to at least one trade hub such as Jita, Dodixie, Hek, Rens, or Amarr (at least 4-6 jumps from one). If you are a miner, you'd probably want to live near or in a 0.5 system as those have better ores than a 0.8 system (from what I hear). I wouldn't recommend setting up in a high sec system that is next to low sec. I wouldn't recommend setting up in a high sec island either.

I would suggest someplace like Anyed or Jarkkolen. Anyed has 39 belts, Jarkkolen has 50. No station in either, but there are stations in next door systems for both. Location: Currently circling the toilet bowl that is Eve.

o/ Clellinon dweller.
First thing first, you don't have to haul everything to Clel if you are mining somewhere else. My "homebase" is not even in Gallente space, yet I do a lot of stuff in Gallente space. You can just use any station you want.
As for mining there are 3 things you want to avoid:
1. Caldari space 2. Proximity to trade hubs and trade lanes 3. Proximity to new player systems.
After that, just find your system with a station and asteroid belts and low player count and chop away at them rocks. Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

With new POS mechanics you don't really need a station anymore for mining ops.
Plant a tower, plant a compression array, plant a corp hangar....and compress and store while you mine and when done mining you start the collection. Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

As a ganker that preys on miners myself, I will state that proximity to lowsec does not put you at any additional risk.
Ganking characters from my group (the New Order) generally live in highsec space and have alternate characters move our ships into position.
We don't base in lowsec, and I cannot think of any group that bases in lowsec but attacks targets of opportunity (like miners) in highsec. There's no opportunity cost to being next to lowsec (and it opens up opportunities - maybe you mine by day, pirate by night, or maybe you duck in and check if there's any particularly lucrative rocks or Mordus spawns in your neighbouring lowsec system.
Being surrounded by lowsec (i.e. on a 'highsec island' where every route to Jita goes through lowsec), on the other hand, has real issues as it is more expensive to move your ore to market. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=346564 - a proposal to overhaul the Logistics skill https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. www.minerbumping.com - ganking miners and causing chaos |

Long time ago I used to live in Kasrasi a .6 system in Derelik. It was almost invariably quite. There was very little mining competition and the pirate activity was very low (expect for what i committed myself), despite the nearby lowsec systems. The surrounding systems are also very quite. If you want to really be left alone you can go to Serad which is a nearby highsec island, or if you have access to pos, you can go to buftiar. I don't play, I just fourm warrior. |

Yes, a lot of such systems exist.

When I was living in HiSec I really enjoyed living in Amarr space. Caldari space was crowded, Minmatar space was ugly and full of smelly Brutors, Gallente space is full of people with big noses and I hate the color green... Amarr space is vibrant and regal. It's not hard to find slightly out of the way systems with lots of rocks and few people. But keep in mind that you are never safe when you undock.
That said I'm not sure at this point if it's more profitable to refine your ores, compress them, or just sell them, as the release hit when I had already moved to WHs. Epic Space Cat |

You don't have to move everything yourself in this game. Use a courier contract and make it worthwhile to run, but also do yourself a favour and set decent collateral. Just increase reward appropriately. It takes a bit of trial and error to get the pricing right, but it's worth the small cut in profits once you get above certain quantities. |

Just stockpile the Ores in nearby stations and then later use an Industrial ship to haul it all to a Market / Trade Hub.
Another thing you might wanna consider is to set up more than one 'Base Of Operations'. That will minimize travel time thus allowing you to make more ISK.
