For the most part, they're useless.
Some people fit them on Ravens instead of a Cap Power Relay, to avoid the shield boost negative modifier. However, you're almost aways better off with a PDU on a Raven.
I would like to see the values of the Cap Flux Coil increased (Huge regen rate, massive cap decrease) so that they could give insane regen rates on a very small capacitor. Say, on a frigate that would give a regen of 5(?) seconds on a capacitor of 20-ish units.
Would help with the Large Nos vs Small Ship whining, i.e. you could drain the capacitor of the frigate, but it would regen enough to keep it's scrambler and webifier running.
Hey, that's actually a sweet idea...

That is a pretty good idea. ill have to see if I cant work something out on the Sleipnir.
Be nice if they boosted them a bit though. ____ "If your not dyin' your not tryin'." "Are you prepared to go all the way, Alexi?" DuGalle |

That will not work, because once the cap is drained down to 0, it will take approx 7-10 seconds for it to even START regenrating, and even then it wont reach acceptable regen rate until it hits like 25%. ------------------ Tired of fleet combat lag? -Post HERE

I'm talking 0%-100% in those 5 seconds.

I actually want to see the same sort of thing on Shield Flux coils. Massive improvement in shield regen, but massive loss in shield HP. Could make it powerful in some circumstances, but not better overall than existing modules. |

Edited by: Nemain on 15/07/2006 04:31:19 They can be usefull when combined with batteries and PDU's, especially on shield tanks. It can be a fine line tho between the enhanced cap recharge being of less use than the extra cap. However, If you want to get the best sustainability out of your shield booster (and don't mind taking a dps hit due to less lows for damage mods), with a bit of practice and right mod combinations they can be a big help. I think tho they do suffer from most people turning their nose up at the cap reduction.

Would be great for high resist setups, but worse on anything else.. I like it

Shield flux coils gimp your cap more then they help your shield, but tbh if you need your shield boosted very fast nomatter the cost...They can work well...Although i dont recommend using them.
