How long is the delay between the firing of an interdiction sphere and when it begins to pull people out of warp?
The reason I'm wondering is because of the possible uses of an interdictor to have a buddy watch a gate, wait for them to warp, and then pop a bubble along their path farther along to catch them in empty space. I know the delay for warp disruption fields prevents this use, but I want to know if it's possible with interdictors.

Does it not work because of some kind of delay? Or do Interdiction spheres not actually pull people from warp at all?

if the sphere is launched any target already in warp is safe i believe. It's supposably a bug though. If you warp after the sphere is launched they pull you out of warp i think. Interdictors are really buggy atm

While on the topic of interdictors, yesterday we had one jump into system and fire a bubble, then MWD'd back to the gate and jumped back out.
Do bubbles not count as aggression?

Don't think of an interdictor's sphere as a device to pull somebody out of warp, but instead as a way to screw with somebody's warp path end point. It functions exactly as a regular deployed mobile warp disruptor would in every way, except that there's no anchor time and it lasts 4 minutes.
It will not affect somebody's path unless the bubble is already deployed when they start their warp. So if you're a hundred au away and start your warp half a second before the bubble gets deployed, you'll insta to the gate normally.
Launching a sphere does not count as aggression, no. Don't complain that it doesn't (if you're anti-interdictor) by the way; it's one of the few advantages flying a 'dictor has to it and is heavily outweighed by the fact that everybody wants to kill you first, you have very little defense, few hp, poor damage, large sig, and everybody wants to kill you first (did I mention that?). Oh, and if you happen to die inside your own bubble your pod will probably get pasted too. Nothing like warp scrambling your own pod

Unfortunately, this does not work and I hope CCP does not change interdictors to function in this way. 0.0 space would be very difficult to travel through in that case. It would (in my opinion) be ridiculously overpowered and I'm a dictor pilot

I know that mobile warp disruption bubbles show up on the scanner but do interdictor launched bubbles show up also? Because if they didn't that would suck big time.

Nope, they don't show up.

They do show up but you must set the scanner not to use overview setting, just like when you scan for scan probes. Link --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) No you cant pull people out of warp in inline safes of your choice...
2) Interdictor spheres like mobile bubbles only work when (a) you are within their range when you INITIATE warp or (b) you are headed for a BM that is (i) in the same grid as them (ii) on the same axis as your warp.
3)Launching a sphere in 0.0 does not count as agression. Launcing a sphere outside 0.0 is not possible.
4)In the case of 2(b) above the sphere can be deployed while you are allready in warp and you will be caught all the same.
5) Popping the Interdictor does not affect the bubble (IMO it should) but it prevents it from launching further bubbles.
6) The rof is very slow but an Interdictor can use more than one sphere launchers at the same time to circumvent this.
(No I dont fly a dictor but I have been caught by them a few times... the most interesting sideffect of dictors is that they end up disrupting friends more often than hostiles -4tl- )

I've heard other people say this but everytime I've tried they've shown up. Are they supposed to or not? I've timed warp outs using the scanner and quick mouse manoeuvers. (think they show up as 'Warp interdiction sphere/bubble', overview settings off of course).
Like everyone is saying they're buggy as hell, not sure whether it was ever CCP's intention to make them pull people out of warp at an inline safe (ala star wars). I doubt it though, it would be far too powerful like that if you ask me.
They need sorting out though, they should pull you in even if you have already started warp to a particular grid.
A similar annoyance is the fact that if an enemy has already pressed the warp button, dropping a bubble on them won't actually stop them. They'll warp out the bubble anyway. This basically means interdictors are no use for warp in tackling to belts or safespots because an on-the-ball pilot will immediately hit the warp button as soon as they see an interdictor.
This needs fixing badly.

This makes little difference because only one bubble per grid works anyway, unless you mean the 4 minute thing once you've launched 2 in seperate grids?

that bug was fixed (apparently) and now the only bugs that remain are the bubble+sphere in same grid nullifies sphere, and the no-scrambling already in-warp targets. -------

So 2 spheres will work at once within the same grid?
Woot if they do!

Funny as it sounds, this is also one of the strengths of an interdictor -- if you start warp and then drop the sphere, you have a chance of escaping. Otherwise you get to be first target and unless your victim is in a rookie ship armed with mining lasers, you'll probably get shot at (and possibly killed).

You make a good point. I still think the offensive use is more important though.
edit: or they could just make warp outs from your own bubbles possible aslong as you've hit warp before you drop it, could be complex though. :/
