so I got to thinking about an interesting little tempest setup:
highs: 6x 800mm t2 AC, 2x heavy nos mids: MWD (t2/faction), shield tank (em hardener, 2x invuln field, faction booster) lows: 5x t2 overdrive
3km/s w/ skills, maybe 4km+ with implants. Drop an invuln field for 20km scram if solo.
I don't know how viable this would be, but it sure would be funny...

You'll boost maybe 1 minute solid, then no more cap. Try this
6x 800 t2 2x heavy dim 1x XL C5-L 1x em t2 1x invul t2 1x cap injector 1x 20k (use ab/t2 invul to replace 20k if u have a tackler) 3x pdu t2 1x dcu 2x gyro t2 5x valkyrie II 5x warrior II

so (ignoring your lows as they defeat the whole purpose of this thread) basically the same thing except use a cap injector. That works but I don't really like carry around charges as they take up some much cargo room...it's always such a pita to keep restocking them and not having any cargo space. This is just something to have fun with while still being able to kill some stuff, dealing with a cap booster kills the fun for me.
Besides I think the cap will last long enough for my purposes

depends on whether a tempest straps your wallet I suppose.
In any case, the element of surprise should never be ignored. Any oddball setup can do well in spite of itself b/c people aren't expecting it. Other setups are consistantly fun if less consistantly successful.

ac tempests come in two flavours... a) armortank pest with cap injector b) ***pest - shieldtanked pest with WCS Pick one... most other setups aren't too smart for an AC pest :P
