So around the Incarna furore my 6 month sub expired.
It wasn't a protest. I didn't shoot at the Jita statue and I didn't add my name to the desub protest lists. I DID get a bit ruffled about $1000 pants and Hilmars Email, but still I was quite happy to keep playing n' paying, and for a few weeks or so spent more time reading the forums than I spent logged in.At that time frankly the high drama and rage coupled with the ooh so quintessentially EVE like trolls and tear farmers was more entertaining than the game.
And then sooner than I expected my subscription was up and I found myself thinking this is the perfect time to take a break. There were RL things I had been putting off and after 3 years of playing I was getting a bit jaded.I only run one Toon and so when it expired I was out of EVE.
And so like a lot of us I went wandering the interwebs, looking at other MMO`s and playing trail accounts and even (though its deeply embarrassing to say it here) I signed up for XBox live looking for a bit of PVP excitement.
Just last Saturday I resubbed to EVE and why? Well the almost daily DEV blogs showing some attention to some rather annoying bugs sure helped. At the time my subscription lapsed my Proteus was still flying backwards,so that was certainly a draw. The pretty new Tier 3 Battle cruisers looked wonderful and had my interest, and as a Hybrid gunner the thought that all those skill points might soon be of use was very tempting.
But the real reason I decided to come crawling back? Its the simple fact that every other MMO out there has zero appeal to me.CCP has made the only true MMO out there. All the others are basically just very large single player games with very very VERY large lobbies with a few tacked on PVP options. Even after the winter Expansion I expect this will still be a deeply flawed game ,but its still head and shoulders above the competition. |

Can i have your stuff. I did say Almost and compared to what they were for a while its a lot more now. The stuff you can have: My Self respect My ice cold corpse My name as the victim in your kill mail.(I'm laughably easy to kill) Stuff you cant have: Things Other things The rest of the things.

I like this! Personally I do not find the activities in EVE very fun at all, but the way in which you interact to do them are. I haven't ever really liked any other MMO before EVE and its the way EVE is set up that makes it worth playing to me! ;D Ferox #1 |
