Seems a bit fragile.. I'm partial to Extender/Booster/Amp in the mids, with DCU/PDU in the lows.. Though I gotta admit, a BCU would be mighty nice...

I have been trying to figure it out would My kes actually be better off with rockets (High rof) or the light missiles (slightly better damage lower Rof)? I dunno any suggestions from super good pilots out there? *please let a covert ops ship use a covert ops cloaking device...It just makes sence* *Bombers need baby love too* -Forum Fighter at work; player at night- |

Rockets = higher DPS, shorter range. They're better for PvP as you don't have a real tank, and depend on high DPS to kill a single target before you die. Most PvP fights are at short range for scrambling, so you might as well use the higher-damage weapon. Also, fitting is much easier than standard launchers, leaving room for AB/MWD/plate/etc without needing a MAPC or two.
Missiles = lower DPS, but much higher range. They're better than rockets for NPC-ing, since you can orbit safely out of range of all return fire. For PvP, use them if you're sure they put you out of range of return fire, and your opponent is too slow to close on you in time. But that doesn't work so well in the real world, as the high grid demands of standard launchers mean either no AB/MWD (and therefore no ability to hold range) or crippled lows from a MAPC.

Edited by: mazzilliu on 17/07/2006 21:45:25 In my experiences rocket kestrels are very effective, just make sure you have an MWD because if your target is faster then you, you are screwed 100%. BCU II probably isn't worth it because you're shaving only 3 extra % off the 2 second launch time, and 3% extra damage to the frigate sized weapon, and all on a very cheap easy to destroy ship
have fun with it though.
and if you're going to fly that in gangs, get your warp drive operation to level 3 or 4, because your cap is so little you will usually get left behind on long gang warps even when you have full cap. ---------

sweet dudette...I will give it a try whenever I get home (not sure when that will be hooka bar tonight!) I fit my kes with 1 nanofiber and 1 injector to help with the speed/manuverability...is this not advised? I have always thought that a quick kestrel > slow kestrel. But eh thats just me

usually when i go fly kestrels i put two BCUI's on it rather then speed mods. i just like seeing rockets launch out of there so fast ---------
