The forums are uber borked. I've kept quiet up till now, cause I was hoping they were being worked on by the webdev team... but it's getting worse.
When I click to reply, I am greeted with "Are you sure you want to log out", I click no, go back to forums, click replay/quote/whatever, same story. So I click yes and "logout", go to forums/my char/whatever, so I can loging and I'm prompted with "Are you sure you want to log out".
WTF!!
I've had to clear my cache/cookies/whatever every single time I want to make a post. It's become a bit of a joke now. The forum bugs were inconvienent before, right now they are a little bit embarrassing on CCPs part.
Please sort it out, I don't like to moan and I'd like to see it sorted so I can praise CCP's greatness.
Thanks

Same here... After I tried to log out from one character to check on my other account, it kept returning me to the logout screen no matter what link I clicked on. So I had to close firefox and start with a new session.
At first I thought it had something to do with the automatic proxy configuration script I am using, but it's all the same if I turn it off (dno for sure if my ISP uses transparant proxyservers but I think they do).
It needs fixing!

Edited by: Shadowsword on 20/07/2006 08:51:19 Pretty often when I hit the "post reply" button the damn page just refresh itself, and what I wrote is gone. I have to select the text and copy it in cache before I post, because half the time I'll have to paste it and reposrt again for it to work...

The official term is "whine", not moan.
Use firefox and things get alot better. The back button solves all problems. Also fox isa better browser... if that Internet Exploder thing didnt come with windows, it would have 0% market share.

I've had entire posts of mine fail to post because the forum decided I should have to resubmit it...for no apparent reason.

Ok. Its strange though, we should all have those problems if it was a forum problem. It made me smile that you get "Do you want to log out?" when you try to reply though. That should be reserved for HippoKing or Dark Shikiri...
I think it must be your browser cookie settings somehow. My browser doesnt allow cookies, but i have the myeve.eve-online.com under exceptions. If you remove all cookies, close the browser, and then click the box to save your password, it should really work from there on....

Saving password seems to work, but I have 2 accounts and I like to post with both characters, each keeping it's own identity. If I save password, posting with the other char becomes a nightmare.
I don't believe I should have to turn a nob three time to the left, once to the right, kick it twice and give it a little rub in order for it to work.

Alrighty. I would solve that problem with having 2 firefox profiles, each one with its own settings (cookies, passwords etc). Its pretty easy actually, just go to the start menu in windoze, select Run, type "firefox -profilemanager" and create a second profile. Using that second profile, make the other char default in your forum settings. So when you log onto the eve forums with the second profile, the other char should be the default poster. You will be able to select a profile when you start firefox.
Hope you understand what i mean.

I understand perfectly, I just think its a little silly I have to go to so much effort to do something that should be so simple and which used to be so simple.

I've encountered the problem with google web accelerator, but found that if I turned it off, the forums worked fine. I happen to be using IE 6.
Just thought I'd post this incase it helps anyone figure out what is going on. |

Ahhhhhh goddam website is poo.
Sent a petition in over a month ago & still had no response, after checking my petitions it appears as though it has been lost in the petition shuffle that happened recently so I thought I would re-petition it. This was the websites response. Oops Something really bad happened and we are really sorry.

I had some troubles which were resolved by setting my browser to accept all cookies from *.eve-online.com, regardless of whether it thought they were a bit dodgy. This prevented the ASP session ids being lost.

Edited by: arbitrary on 20/07/2006 12:07:26 I'm having similar problems with the forums.
when I have javascripts allowed replying to a thread is alright, but not quoting someone - for that I must open the link into a new tab/window.
With javascripts turned off I can quote, but not reply properly etc.
Besides that it loves to hang up and force me to some random eve-o page that I have visited this session, over and over again; until I restart the browser.
For some reason I have less problems with this computer, then two others I've been using during spring - but it's still there.
EDIT: Oh and it likes to scrap posts as well
EDIT2: "This thread does not exist." is my standard reply from the forums when trying to edit anything as well, but it does edit the post it seems

How ironic I had the exact problem I was going to post about on this thread, me hitting reply a number of times with nothing happening, who broke what?
