Some uber rich mission runner that can afford to fit officer smartbombs can afford to loose them too.

I happen to have the ability to probe down a specific missionrunner target in a highly populated high sec system within a reasonable timeframe.
I was wondering. Are there certain missions that probes cannot find? I had 2 bs on my scanner and couldn't find either while they did their mission.

This is new?
The very first time I fitted a SB last year one of my fellow mission runners warned me of that very problem.
I'm pretty sure the idea isn't new, perhaps more people are just catching onto the idea?

Everything is probe-able. The point is that the mission-runners whined endlessly when their missionspots where normal safespots and the devs moved them to supersafespots. Usually the missionspots are visible from celestial objects but they are like 12au off the z-axis and therefore a supersafe (so you need observator probes and about 20-30mins to find em)

I suppose the statement to mission runners would be "adapt or die".
old school, old news, its a griefing tactic and fun. as for your post sakura..... *looks at sig* *red ochre takes a fork and stabs you in the other eye with it*

Awesome idea.
A bit harsh though. I think it should probably be so that a smartbomb pulse which uncloaks someone isn't criminal, because it wasn't known to be a crime at the time.
Its as if you went to a shooting range, and shot at a thin target. Then you went to prison for murder because someone was intentionally standing behind the target in order to incriminate you
Ignorance is no excuse in the eyes of the law.

Wait for a covert to cloak, sneak behind it and smart bomb it to hell while showing CONCORD the finger. Nice try Hippo but this trap will not make it into the game.

Edited by: Digitalfox on 04/08/2006 23:14:31 I'm pretty sure you cant scan down mission runners, even with the obserators. All scanner probes are operate on a 1 au plane, 1 au up and 1 au down. I'm pretty sure that, unless they changed something, all missions are run outside of this 1 au plane.
I should amend it to say, all deadspace missions are run off this plane, there are missions that take place close to moons and jump gates

As with most of these whine threads, I would like to thank the original poster for the the tip. I will be using this new tactic with utmost delight in the near future.

Have to agree that this while sneaky as hell, isn't an exploit. Being a "mission running carebear" I full well know the riks of the smartbomb I pack around in high security. Happily it's only been a problem once when decided to try to team up. Was tanking on a lvl 4, jumped into a beautiful smartbomb setup, but my gangmate musta got excited, cuz he jumped in early, and bam, learned concord is about as understanding as most real life cops. = /
Anyways, it's a clever tactic, and would love to use it on some pirates sometime. Understand, for mission runnuners some lvl 4's drones agro the zone when they launch, so it's a dangerous proposition to go in without a smarty equipped. Even a dual tech 2 repper hardner apoc can only tank so much incoming fire.

Pulses which decloak someone do no damage.
