Hi!
I have seen some inaccessible 1/10 DED complexes (Serpentis Drug Outlet) in the last few weeks. Scanned down, warped to gate, first room empty, second room empty, gate to third room locked (as it should be if I don't have the passkey). Nothing strange about that so far, there could be someone in the third room. But the same complex is still there two downtimes later: Signature is there, signature can be scanned down, complex location is the same as the location of my previously saved bookmark. Tried combat scanner probes several times, no ship anywhere near that complex.
Is that a bug or lack of information on my side? I always thought that those complexes disappear as soon as you warp out, and there can't be anybody inside after downtime.
Best thing about that: No new DED complex spawns as long as this "corpse" is there.

I have seen this too.

There are few possibilities:
- "Drugdealer Passcard to Storage Area" has been taken by another player. The player either still has it and is trolling the explorers or he has placed it on the market (Contracts).
- There is a bug in that specific site and for some strange reasons it does not re-spawn.
From what I have seen, CCP has adjusted the signal disappearing: as soon as the trigger for escalation is killed or when the main NPC/structure is killed, the signal will re-spawn.
A question: did you come back in a site after a down time? There were no new spawns? If this is the case, then you should maybe file a bug report. I am not sure what has exactly changed in the 1/10 & 2/10, but before they were static and a man could always come after downtime and collect the new key/pass-card. I think the main key holder (NPC) re-spawned every four hours if I am not wrong.
Whatever it is, please return to your own thread and write the cause of this weird behavior : ).
Cheers. |

From what I've learned about DED sites that site should diappear then as soon as you warp out. I still believe that the one with the passcard would have to sit in the last room (of course without passcard then) to keep the whole site up and visible. Happened to myself with the "Serpentis Live Cargo Distribution" some months ago when I had to warp out due to bad fitting. Site was gone when I came back.
Sadly the chance of having good deadspace module loot keeps me from trying such things...

I tried coming back to at least two different sites several times. No new spawns, no new loot in containers, I even destroyed all remaining structures once to see if there's a passcard somewhere. Nothing.
Of course it is still possible that there were new spawns and someone else killed all rats before I showed up. Then there's still the question: Why did the site not disappear hours later?

ever since ccp moved the1/10s and 2/10s to the exploration system those sites rarely spawn/despawn without problems -____- EVE Online. Is there a game more worthwhile to play? Nope. http://www.youtube.com/JonnyPew |

More than likely someone warped out of the last area without destroying the Overseer and since the gates re-lock after being used, couldn't get back in. As it is right now you can either wait for the site to de-spawn naturally after a few days or just buy the passkey from the markets and complete the site. You'll probably have to travel quite a few jumps just to get a key.
Eventually what little stock there is left available in the Markets will soon be depleted. CCP definitely needs to do some re-work on those sites.
I think those sites should have the passkeys re-spawn after each Downtime to allow other players a chance to complete the site. Either that or make a secondary passkey available to unlock those gates (Pirate Copper Tag?). Another option would be to include the passkeys in Commander NPC loot drops. CCP could also create another ISK sink just by having passkeys available in the market from NPC Military Corps for that Factions space.
Anyway, definitely submit a bug report. If more players do that then hopefully CCP will take action and fix the issue.

Well, that was long before I even knew about EVE. And I started scanning for DED sites just two months ago. So I have no knowledge to compare.

If the passkeys were a little cheaper I would try that.

That sounds good and makes sense. Losing competition with other players while scanning down and running those sites is one thing (and a fun thing), but inaccessible complexes that stay alive for days are just annoying.

I will do that later today or tomorrow.
Thanks for all replies so far!
