New frigate wormholes mean I have to adjust my playstyle. i usually hunt in nullsec using cruisers, but to take advantage of frigate holes, I have to switch to frigates.
I havent played frigates in a while. So, which is the most efficient frigate to jump into null and camp a bubble solo? (With a buzzard scout alt maybe, to keep eyes).
I was thinking a gank dramiel, daredevil, maybe enyo or a worm or a cruor?
Idea would be to set up bubble 50km or so away from gate or on a JB, take cov ops, transports, maybe ballsy inty that decides to go for it... But target selection aside, which of the frigates is most efficient? Which can take on even cruisers? Frigate would have to be tanky enough to reliably win vs. 1-2 intys at a time, and perhaps even a cruiser..
Any recommendations? |

Most assault frigates are well suited for this.
Frigate lock times, AB+scram+web are excellent for bubble camping. The AF's are tanky enough to be hard to kill when flown right, dpsy enough to destroy most targets in a reasonable time frame, and generally work very well.

You'll be hard pressed to catch good inty pilots in an Assault Frigate cause they're just too slow. However in order to be able to take on cruisers you need a decent tank to kill drones and deal with possible missiles/double webs/other stuff that can hit frigates, so you need something tanky as well. The Worm is probably your best bet, it's faster than assault frigates, very tanky, and also does a ton of dps. I'd probably go for a long point fit with a web and MWD, something like this:
[Worm, PvP]
Drone Damage Amplifier II Drone Damage Amplifier II Internal Force Field Array I
Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I Warp Disruptor II Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction
Upgraded 'Malkuth' Light Missile Launcher, Caldari Navy Inferno Light Missile Upgraded 'Malkuth' Light Missile Launcher, Caldari Navy Inferno Light Missile Upgraded 'Malkuth' Light Missile Launcher, Caldari Navy Inferno Light Missile
Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer II Small Ancillary Current Router II Small Core Defense Field Extender II
Hobgoblin II x1 Warrior II x2 Hobgoblin II x2
You need a 1% CPU implant to fit this, or alternatively you can drop the shield extender and web to meta 3 and it'll fit without implants. Can just about break 300dps with heat, is great at killing interceptors as while it isn't extremely fast, the missiles have 42km range so you'll be doing some nice consistent dps to them. Long point + decent speed means you don't have to commit to fights against larger targets and if they bring backup you can simply warp off. Downside is you'll have to baby sit your drones as any smart player will start shooting them if they can't apply dps to your ship, this means your actual dps is lower but it's manageable and you can always bring a mobile depot + extra drones which is cheap and ensures you don't run out. It's got 10k EHP and 40dps tank against warriors so you'll have plenty of time to kill drones against larger targets. RLML Cruisers will still murder you but you have the speed to get out of range and warp. It's also got enough tank to win brawls against other frigates like Daredevils and Dramiels, 300dps + 10k tank is better tank/gank than any other frigate out there. |

I've seen people killing lots with an Imperial Navy Slicer, though it requires Amarr Frigate 5 for full 125% damage bonus for lasers. |

I'd love to se someone do it in an Astero since you could sit cloaked and just ignore targets you don't want to hit. Scan bonus means you can navigate wormholes faster, too.
