after I have opened a cargo container change its name to 'inspected container' or 'opened container' and maybe even change its color on the overview and in space to green...
lets say I have 30 cargo cans on screen after clearing a mission, there is alot of junk in those cans that I do not want to loot but there also might be some modules that are worth millions, I surely do not want to loot any cap booster batteries as this will hog lots of space in my cargo hold.
Its hard for me to see which cans I have already checked and which ones I have not. I know its possible to rename cans myself but would be nice to have a automated system to rename cans for me, maybe even change thier color on the overview and in space to green so its clear what is left to check.
I'm also aware of the method of looting all cans and then ejecting the junk OR just destroying the cans I dont like. I think looting is already quite a pain the arse activity and could use a few little changes.

Get rid of loot drops completely once wrecks come in. Then only savlagers can get equipment from wreck. |

I believe the wreck system will still contain loot drops similar to what we have today, but salvagers will be able to extract tech from the wrecks, that are to be used in the new equipment engineering stuff.

The tried and true method that a lot of us Caldari folks use (having extra high slots on our feroxes and ravens and such to play with), toss a tractor beam on. Jetison something from your cargo hold. Tractor that can (this way you can put stuff INTO the can), then go about your merry way, putting only what you want into that cargo can you're towing with the cargo tractor beam. Blow up the cans you don't want.
Me personally, I put *everything* into this can I tow around (I use 2 tractor beams though, 1 to tow a can, and 1 to grab cans faster as I cruise along). Once I'm done and all the loot is in that 1 can, I can then sort through it, keep what I want, and then blow the can up when I'm done. However, most of the time I have a hauler nearby, and I come get the whole lot of it with my hauler before telling the agent the mission is done. Anything that's garbage can be melted down for minerals (though I'm a manufacturer, so I care about that kind of stuff :))
