Having been away from Eve for a while I returned and am looking at getting back into invention. The first and most apparent thing I noticed about invention is that there is a huge amount of out of date information floating around on websites and blogs.
Unfortunately, being just horrible at reading and maths, I'm now confused.
Can anyone point me to a blog post that is accurate and accounts for the recent changes to industry?
Failing that, I have some questions; Do the number of runs on a BPC make any difference to the invention outcome? Am I correct in understanding that there is no negative values for ME and PE any longer? What affects the base number of runs on various invented BPCs? Does anyone know of a data dump where some of these figures could be found?
You're all excellent. |

1 - No 2 - Yes. Standard now is 2 ME and 4 TE for a BPC without decryptors. Don-¦t know atm if you can go to negative ME with a decryptor. 3 - decryptors do this. Select the BPC you want to invent in the industry window and look on the left side for them. Try all to see which one you want to use because everyone has an other effect on the BPCs. 4 - Yes. It is found here Toolkit. It-¦s the data dump for the static data if i understand correct. But you need something like MySQL to get them on your PC working and i have some troubles with this so i cannot tell you more of it.
And here you can find the Dev-Blog for the Crius changes. Because it is much information there are more devblogs linked in this one. |

Thanks, the answer helped me too. Lots of programs are using incorrect info right now. So it's been hard for me to find out what is what.
IPH I think is out of date and cannot be used for invention. Not sure if Eve-Cost is also in the same boat.
I have two questions to add...
1) In one instance I saw a spreadsheet "Dedaf's Industrial Tool" which is very up to date. However it has the ME/TE of the input BPC for invention affecting the output BPC through invention. My understanding was that the ME/TE of the BPC has no affect on the outcome BPC's ME/TE. So what is the truth of this, will my input BPC have any affect on the outcome BPC?
2) The Decryptors are listed almost like a modifier, and to confuse it most databases only list their modifier in old ME/PE values. IF I use a Eaoteric Process Decryptor for invention, what stats would the outcome BPC have?
EXAMPLE
INPUT Caracal BPC (10 runs, ME -9%, TE -18%) Decryptor Esoteric Accelerant Skills Caldari Encryption Methiods V Mechanical Engineering IV Caldari Starship Engineering IV
What would be the outcome BPC of this invention be if successful with the Decryptor? What would the output BPC be if I did not use any decryptor?
Thanks! |

It's being worked on.
The ME/TE of the input BPC has no effect at all on the invented BPC.
As for your Caracal, if you did not use a decryptor, +2/+4 (standard in Crius). To tell what it will be with a decryptor, add the ME/TE modifiers of the decryptor to the base (the +2/+4), then add the runs modifier of the decryptor to the number of runs you'd get by default (1 for rigs and ships, 10 for modules and ammo). That hasn't changed (yet)
Bear in mind invention is up for more changes soon |
